It was always going to go through.

There is too much money involved, from big companies no less.

When's the last time you heard about a well known big company trying to buy another company and it was actually stopped.

When's the last time you've heard big government trying to stop big companies from becoming too big, or approaching becoming monopolies by buying other big companies?

It's been quite a while.

even the uk parliament brought the cma in to ask them what the fuck they're doing

everyone else around the world is approving it, meanwhile the cma is over there doing math wrong and getting two things confused with each other and then post a butthurt tweet after the eu approval lmao

I'll be honest, when it comes to companies that deal with non-essential industries, I don't care about them being "too big" or "monopolies". It they start doing things that I deem anti-consumer practices, I just won't support them. Is it the end of the world if Microsoft becomes the only video game company and they suck? No. I'll just move on to one of the hundreds of other time-wasting activities I could be doing.

I am much more concerned with stuff you can't live without being owned by one company. Like groceries, utilities, ISPs, etc.

AON and Willis Towers Watson. DOJ sued to block the deal and they decided to terminate it.

Risk management, consulting, insurance brokerage. Basically the same thing as Aon if you have heard of them, 2 of the bigger companies of that type.
