Board 8 > Do you have hope for the next bunch of Star Wars movies?

Thinking about it, I actually do. At least in the financial sense, Star Wars has been off the silver screen for a relatively long time, so a new Star Wars movie will be more of an event than it would have been even a few years ago. Even in a more artistic sense, I have faith Disney won't try to put out a new movie every two years since the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn't the reliable cash cow franchise in 2015 it now is.

And as much as we like to mock Disney for not having planned out the sequel trilogy out in advance, when you think about it in the context of Disney trying to avoid the pitfalls of the prequel trilogy and Phase 2 of the MCU.

There's always hope, they just have to have someone dictating an actual story arc this time

I also personally think more good than bad came out of the sequel trilogy anyway, if only because it brought more attention to the franchise than it has had since the days of the original trilogy and helped fund the Disney+ series (which have admittedly themselves been hit and miss). I feel like most of the people who complain about the sequel trilogy are people who it was never really meant for in the first place.

I just dont care at this point. If a SW comes out and its good maybe Ill watch it, but I dont see myself being excited for it ahead of time.

It was meant for Star Wars fans, and Star Wars fans generally liked it until RoS.

It wasn't designed for the people obsessed with Star Wars and the extended universe, because there is frankly no pleasing those people.

Even with the inconsistent quality of the movies and shows Star Wars is better off now than before Disney.

I don't have strong feelings about the Star Wars brand. I generally turn off my brain and not think much about the story. If these make for good popcorn flicks, then I'll consider them a success.

Chaotic Jedi- Loves everything, including the EU and the Disney stuff. Has an unhealthy obsession with Ahsoka Tano.

Lawful Jedi - Read the Zahn books when they were in third grade. Writes academic essays about Clone Wars. Idolizes George Lucas and Mark Hamill and sees Filoni as the Second Coming. Didn't like the PT at first but have come around on it. Has issues with the Sequel Trilogy but recognizes there's "still good in it."

Neutral Jedi - Boomers/ Gen X'ers/Millenialswho grew up with the original trilogy and like it more than anything else, specifically Empire. Not really into SW anymore but they heard about the Mandalorian and Andor on a podcast and liked them.

True Neutral - Hasn't seen any Star Wars

Neutral Sith - Darth Vader is their favorite character, and they really like the hallway scene in Rogue One. They don't quite understand the real-world political analogues to the Empire/Rebellion. Has a closet full of black t-shirts.

Lawful Sith - Vocally dislikes either the PT or the ST to an annoying degree. Complains about Disney's handling of the EU to anyone who will listen. Makes references to Kevin J.Anderson books to no one in particular. They prefer RoS to TLJ. They dislike the overall direction the series is headed, but their lingering attachments to the series dictate that they are cursed to still watch everything that comes out and just be miserable.

Chaotic Sith - Harasses actors online and Kathleen Kennedy lives rent free in their brain. Frequently uses terms like SJW, woke, etc. Doesn't actually watch the movies/shows, but only just this week realized they were watching alt-right youtubers and making topics about them ad nauseum.

I don't have an existing hope. Maybe I'll find a new one.

I've still only seen the prequel trilogy and original trilogy.
