It is a fine movie, but does not feel like the previous Ant-Man movies. So I guess that is a good or bad thing depending how you felt about the previous two.

IIRC, at the time he was cast as Iron Man RDJ was in the process of rehabbing his image after staying clean for a bit. He was in the "I'm a better person" stage. He was also known for drug abuse, not physical violence.

Not only is Major's wrap domestic violence, but it's come up very recently, after he was already cast.

The real only good I found about the movie was the set pieces and how imaginative the Quantum Realm was. While not on Avatar's level of CGI, it's still some of the most creative worlds I've seen from the MCU yet.

But otherwise the whole movie was a fucking mess and they totally flopped Kang's introduction. Jonathan Majors gave it his all, but the issue is there really isn't anything for him to work with. Not once did I consider him a threat while watching the movie. The movie keeps going on and on about how we should fear him but yet doesn't show any feats for it, vs. Thanos where the first scene in Infinity War, he kills two main characters, bodies a third, and leaves a fourth to die. Meanwhile, Kang is just alluded to for half his film and most of his feats are only informed or implied. The characters tell us to fear him, while Thanos demonstrated to us why we should fear him.

Also the other actors honestly felt like they were phoning it in, except for maybe the actress playing as the daughter. And the humor, not Love and Thunder bad, was mostly just misses. This movie is above the mediocre MCU films, but that's not saying much. Thank goodness GotG Vol 3. was such a better movie in every way to prevent Phase 5 from having a rocky start.

I wouldn't be surprised that thanks to her anti-vax outburst that they significantly reduced her lines in the third movie. There were plenty of times when she was suppose to talk but was awkwardly quiet... which is probably for the best lol.

Certainly one of the best since Endgame, but the first two Ant-Man movies are among my faves, so maybe I overhyped more than I shouldve and felt a little let down by Quantumania.

It just felt like too much of a departure from what made the first two so great.

And Im still salty that Luis wasnt in it and it bothers me that more people werent bothered by that lol.

Easily the best Ant-Man movie and an absolute blast by itself. The Quantum realm is so creative and unique and this is basically the movie we've been waiting for since Hank first mentioned the Quantum Realm. Absolutely flabbergasted by people hating it. But then again, almost everything in phase 4 was great and people act like every single movie in that phase except Spider-Man killed their dog. Nerds have a real chip on their shoulder post Endgame for some reason.

Movie was good. Kang was great and Majors killed it. Retroactively it kinda bums me out. Guess we will see what Marvel does with Majors and Kang going forward.

My biggest issue with the movie was that so much of it was underdeveloped due to trying to cram too much into it.

The one civilization was just there. They're were introduced and then had that clichd war scene making us root for them when I had no reason to care for them.

Bill Murray's character felt pointless and an afterthought. Why include him if we learn nothing about him and he just disappears without an explanation?

Our main cast got very little development. Scott and his daughter kinda had a plot going there but it felt very paint by numbers. Wasp was just there the whole movie, with a few action scenes here and there.

The cybernetic ants plot with Hank was probably the most interesting part of the movie. But they did so little with it. I would have loved to see that plot expanded more.

And the thing that disappointed me the most was the usage of the shrinking growing abilities this movie. Part of what made 1 and 2 fun was the unique and interesting ways they incorporated the shrinking technology, such as shrinking a building or the various stuff shrunk and grown during fight scenes. In this movie, I felt like they kept using the same shrink, launch, and grow into a punch move too many times without much creativity. Even Giant Man felt disappointing because scale was very hard to assess in this alien world. I really would have loved for them to find new ways to utilize the shrinking and growing technology in battle.

Everyone's allowed to have their opinion but I just haven't seen many legitimate complaints about any of these movies. It's mostly impotent nerd rage stuff like "I can't believe they RUINED a boring character like Taskmaster!" and "there weren't as many dimensions as I thought would be in the movie! ".

My dislike of them doesnt come from a place of nerd-rage. I just felt for the most part that they were very boring. Black Widow was incredibly bland and generic, to the degree that I barely remember anything about it.

Yeah. The first two were basically heist movies in a MCU skin, which I loved. This one generally felt like any other generic action movie I've seen in my lifetime. Not terrible, but I doubt it is something I'll ever feel the need to watch it again.

I really liked and was really surprised by the hate it got. The only thing I didn't really care, it's another big team up movie. This is a major issue I have with the recent Marvel movies. Every single one of them is some big team up, usually involving family members and randoms gaining powers. Shang-chi, Eternals, NWH, Black Widow, MoM, Wakanda, Thor, GotG, all them. GotG and Eternals get a pass cuz they were always teams, but shits just annoying. Give me something like Iron man 1

More accurately, Kang's technology was destroyed by a civilization of ants that had been working in unison to develop their society and their technology for at least 1000 years. Nerfed Kang was defeated by Ant-Man and The Wasp.
