Interesting news. Loki Season 2 has Johnathan Majors in it and this is the first show to be dropped all at once

I feel like I'm the only person who is actually pretty interested in Echo, but dropping it all at once feels like they don't have much confidence in it drumming up hype.

This, or that it's going to be considerably shorter to the point that it probably could have just been a movie

Potential reasons for echo:

It may be bad and want to get it out the way quick

It may not benefit from weekly as in episodes arent self contained and its sort of like a long movie

They dont have confidence it can be marketed well (regardless of quality), especially if later episodes start dropping around christmas

They need to get it out asap because it builds into something (daredevil) that starts soon after

Did they already recast Kang?

Maybe they learned from She Hulk that when you have a really low quality show it is better to just dump it all at once instead of a slow drip where you get slammed with a huge negative response every week.

Echo may also be getting a drop all at once due to scheduling. A star wars show may be dropping soon after and last time obi wan killed ms marvel, despite ms marvel being better received

I can't see a universe where Echo doesn't suck, but some people said the same about Andor.

The Marvel shows in general have been garbage except Loki season 1.

And then there were the ones who disliked that they changed her power set from stretching to a Green Lantern-esque ability, despite the fact that this change was a request from the person who created Kamala in the first place because A - stretch powers always look like shit in live action, and B - they didn't want her fetishized by perverts

I will admit that I was hesitant about it because of the power switch, but it did work pretty well

I didnt like the power swap but the issue for me was the middle 3 episodes and the globe spanning adventure. Also she got a new origin story every other episode. Its from a bangle, to her grandma is an alien from another dimension, to shes a mutant

I cant say Im disappointed by the Echo season dump. But its never been a great strategy for a business IMO

Im keen for it. I imagine this is drumming up hype for Daredevil rather than it being its own thing

deaf girl from the Hawkeye show

I'm gonna be shocked if Echo ends up being good honestly. Hawkeye was carried by the two leads. It was nice having a deaf character but dunno if there's enough there.

Would love to be proven wrong but most D+ stuff tends to hover around the 'meh' level.

Kingpin was awful in Hawkeye.

Daredevil was good in She-Hulk but that was a comedy series.

The problem with Kingpin in Daredevil was almost meta. In the Daredevil show there's a serious risk that Kingpin's gonna go nuts at any time and start killing people. In Hawkeye he's never gonna do that because it's a Disney Plus show. So any time he tried to seem scary it just rang hollow. He never did anything that would actually make him scary.

Echo is probably going to have the same problem.

I honestly think the Echo actor is gonna be sort of devoid of charisma, even with DD and Kingpin on her show.

Also, they may as well put it all out at the same time; October is Loki S2, then Captain Marvel 2, then Echo show.......................and then a million years go by and in May of 2024 I think is Captain America 4 so, yeah, whatever, media dump in Oct/Nov, why not?

I liked them all but if I'm being honest, none of the MCU shows thusfar rate that high; I'd put most of them at a 7-8/10, and I'm a fan.

I've liked all the D+ shows to varying degrees so far

I also haven't seen a Phase 4 movie that I hated yet and I've seen all of them except the new Ant-Man and GotG3, waiting for both of those to hit streaming
