Soda is literally the cheapest shit on any restaurant's menu yet the servers fill cups with it like it's priceless ambrosia.
If they used half as much ice that'd be half as many refills they'd have to do. Do they specifically tell them to put as much ice in the glass as physically possible?

Yes. I always get less ice but not because of getting more soda. The ice makes it far too cold for me with the way they do it especially with water.

With Tea, yes. Sometimes it takes a while to bree it and people really like Tea.
