I wasn't planning on going anyway, but something occured to prevent it as well. We had to pay $50 to attend, or sell 2 $25 tickets to another event. The deadline was up, and I returned my unsold tickets to the teacher. Who then claimed I never returned them and that I owed her $50 for them. Then in top of that it would've been another $50 to attend. My family was poor, and there was no way we could shell out $100 for that.

Besides, I wouldn't have been welcome anyway. So, there was no reason to go.

Dances aren't really my thing but I went just to say I did. And hung around with my friends. Some of whom were couples and did some dancing but eh. It went fine.

I did. went with a classmate of mine. we never banged lol

I went as a date the year before, so I mostly got the experience. When it was time for my own prom tickets to go on sale, me and my gf at the time had just broken up. I was not interested in going with some random girl just to go.

no, i didn't go. two girls wanted to go with me and i didn't want to hurt either of their feelings (also i'm gay LOL) so I picked up a shift at work instead and said I couldn't get out of it

I went with a friend who went to a different school but still knew more people there than I knew. He was a really nice guy (Im female btw), and Im still sort of in contact with him over 30 years later.

yeah, took a girl to junior prom and two girls to senior prom

my HS only had juniors and seniors go to prom (underclassmen could go if asked by a junior or senior)

i went both years with a date (different girls)

the most action i got was a hug both times

It was an all-male homeschool. About 11 to 14 of us ranging from middle school to highscool.

I had zero interest in going.

Our prom was crazy expensive. I wasn't going to pay hundreds of dollars to go to what is essentially a lame party. I just skipped it and went to the weekend-long afterparty that followed it (where everyone piled into cars, drove to a local-ish resort town, everybody rented hotel rooms, and there was loads and loads and loads of underage drinking).

You haven't lived until you've seen a couple hundred drunken teenagers take over a boardwalk town and just drink and hook up all weekend.

Yeah it was fun. Prom was at the Westin in downtown Atlanta and we had a limo shuttle us from authentic Italian restaurant Olive Garden to there

Some rando dude at the venue was trying to pimp out his "cousin" in a prom dress to us when neither of them attended our school, so that was kinda weird

No, my school was super lame so I went to a friend's prom at a much nicer school instead.

I went but had to use the bathroom an hour in and no way in hell am I using a prom bathroom.

I'm pretty sure it's because I hate big "dancing" (jumping around in mosh pits) parties, so both times, I basically hid with my fellow respected loners until the slow dance songs

Tldr I most likely just pissed both of them off by being ghostly instead of spending time with them

I skipped prom. I heard about the story from others. Apparently the cringe level was over 9000.

Instead a played Rush 2. I have a world record in that game.

Almost nobody went to mine. Teachers said less than two dozen students showed up.

School was broke so you had to pay senior dues to attend, and nobody was doing that shit lol.

I heard of multiple after parties though, which I assume is where most of the kids went. Naturally though I wasn't invited to any. >_>
