Ps5 port is not registering the jack anymore. It's a little loose and was yanked on accidentally then stopped working.
any cables with a larger jack?

There is a lock thingy on those.

Could have broken that.

He could use the other end of the cable to test.

Yes, different cable same result.
Then used both cables on the ps4 and they worked fine.

What do you mean lock?
Is that something I can fix by taking the ps5 apart?

Well, you can check inside the port and see if any of the 8 copper pins are bent/broken but if they arent, then you probably broke the connection between the port and the motherboard. It should be fixable if you have a soldering kit and find a replacement port that fits, but might be easier/safer to take it to an electronics repair place and have them work on it.

I wonder if shoving a jack back in at equal opposing force to the yank might appease it, provide equilibrium

It's not the size of the jack, but how you insert it.

Stop inserting stuff until you know what's broken on it, it might just end up getting broken further.

Go take a picture of your PS4's working port and compare it against your PS5's broken one yourself.

Is the ps5 part broke or just the connector on the cable?

All troubleshooting points to the connector. Cable, modem, and cords are fine

I'm always confused when someone says this..then I remember I'm in the minority with really strong and stable wifi..

But as for your problem..yeah, the yanking probably pulled something loose. Dont try to fix it yourself. Trust me. Take it in someplace.
