Jedi is on a planet and death star fires. The jedi puts out their hands and Force Stops the blast, then pushes it back into the death star, blowing it up

Assuming they keep making up new stories forever, eventually, someday, this will be used in some story

I'd be shocked if someone didn't already write that in some old EU book.

The EU had Luke hold a black hole or something to that effect.

The problem with the Holdo maneuver is that it makes you wonder why nobody did before? They have Poe say that its a one in a million chance, yet someone did it again at the end of the movie.

After that, we'll have a Jedi on a planet that can just force crush an orbiting death star.

I don't actually remember the movies well enough if there is a situation that calls for it beforehand, but either way, that's a "huh, that's curious" complaint. I'm talking about the dumbos who will spend days arguing over how it's lorebreaking and franchise ruining and whatnot.

If I were writing a Star Wars movie, I'd have the Jedi bend over and shoot lightning from their arse and blow up the Death Star that way.

With force ass-lightning.

For everyone knows that the Sith shoot their lightning from their fingertips. But the Jedi can shoot lightning too, just from their arse.

Well if they're gonna pull plot points out of their ass anyway, might as well go all the way.

Wouldn't surprise me. Even in the EU they had Luke do some ridiculously OP things, which was part of what turned me off from the later stuff. It was like DBZ. It seems like almost every franchise has a problem with power creep and trying to top everything else before. Star Trek has devolved into billions of ships on screen pew pew-ing everywhere to where it looks like a damn video game when before just one on one ship battles could be intense as hell.

Why do the trench run on the Death Star when the Holdo maneuver is available?

You say that but it's a thing. High Republic book has a part where they're literally chaining droids together to solve an extremely complex math problem and they have to be careful so the droids don't blow themselves up.

I dunno. Death Star is thicker, rebellion doesn't have enough large enough ships to penetrate it? It was built to withstand such due to it's nature, but such technology isn't viable for star destroyers?

Or maybe it wasn't thought of then, as it would appear from the timeline, I guess.

It really doesn't matter and it's not important.

This reminds me to the question on Star Trek: "why can't they just teleport a bomb to the enemy's ship?"

Because the shield prevents teleportation.

Kirk proved it can be done in the episode "Obsession".

Kirk and Garrovick beam down with an antimatter bomb. With the creature about to envelop them, Kirk and Garrovick beam away and the bomb explodes, annihilating the entity.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsession_(Star_Trek:_The_Original_Series)

---

If the TOS Enterprise can beam a bomb to a planet, then any ship with a transporter can beam a bomb anywhere that isn't shielded.

(Like a Borg vessel, considering they never raise shields. After all, the cast of every series that had an episode with them... beamed over without problems.)
