I finally gave in and started last night.

Pretty cool so far. I kinda like the turn based play since it's a lot easier on phone. Genshin I didn't wanna try on my phone because phone controls tend to be too wonky for me for A RPGs like that

Got Bailu from the discount pulls. Used moneyz on Seele banner but got shit lol. Using Bailu, Hook, Pela and Dan Heng atm.

Star Rail is. Honkai Impact is not.

Okay, so there is a Honkai Impact game I suppose, which is something. And there is also a Honkai Impact: Star Rail game which is the RPG one. And from the same people is also Genshin Impact which is the open world one and has no relation to Honkai.

I think from what I searched that is the thing. But that Star Rail being a turn based RPG sounds interesting.

There's some really meta theory that they are related but I can't say how without massive spoilers and it may not even be accurate but there's a bunch of evidence for it in Genshin Impact and players might find some more shit to back it up in Honkai Star Rail.

I'm sure once the gacha grind sets in I'll change my tune, but the story and the writing are much better than Genshin's so far.

All right. Well, honestly I care little about stories in videogames, so long the gameplay is great, I might give it a shot. With SF6 coming up, maybe I won't end up trying it, but it might be worth it to try and have a gacha game here and there.

Well, until the new iDOLM@STER gacha drops, then whatever gacha I am playing will be done for. But thanks for the input!

I also care little about story in most Vidya games. And 99% of the time I don't care if it's from a gacha. But I have to say the production value and characters have made it entertaining to follow.

Also the character designs are top notch. Although some characters can look a bit same-y, every design so far has appealed to me in one way or another.

I also care little about story in most Vidya games. And 99% of the time I don't care if it's from a gacha. But I have to say the production value and characters have made it entertaining to follow.

Gacha stories are usually the worst. It's always so weird when one of them turns out to be good. I'm still engrossed in Guardian Tales exclusively for the story and I've been playing it for 1000 days

I've been playing it a few days so far myself on PC and been having some good fun with it. I haven't spent any money on it but so far haven't had much trouble advancing through the story.

I've spent a bit to chase Seele and luckily managed to get her. Currently on the can't progress the story until lv24 grind. World 2 of simulated world was kicking my ass but I guess I have a lot to do to upgrade my characters still.

I must have been playing too slowly. I see a lot of mention of the lv24 road block, but I reached it just fine. My roadblock was that I hit lv20 long before I could unlock the equilibrium quest, so I had constant red text telling me I couldnt level until I did it whenever I got trailblazer exp. I was really concerned that the exp was going to waste. Ive only seen one other person mention it.

It wasn't too bad of a roadblock. Only took one day of dailies/energy spending/etc to get to 24.

Man the fight with Cocolia and the cinematic beforehand was soooo good. And dat music ugh.

Also Fire MC is soooo good. Gonna be the third mainstay in my party I think.

I want Silver Wolf already, x.x . I'm sitting on a lot of wishes while waiting, and my gambling senses are gnawing at me.

We generally have been discussing this in the gacha general so far.

Got Seele pretty early on in my rolls for her all just from playing the game - huge DPS increase for my team, and got Bailu from the 50 initial pull banner and she's been absolutely amazing as well

Lol yeah those were my first two (and so far only) 5 star pulls. They been hard carrying.

Imagine my surprise when finally Bailu's healing couldn't save a team member from getting killed...only to have her auto revive. Absolutely amazing medic lol

Yeah I noticed but I feel like the game is big enough to have it's own topic lol.

Also something cool that I never noticed. Depending who you're playing as, they change their phone cases. Little details like that is what I love in games

Agreed, I used to have genshin on my phone but it was a hassle having to carry my controller around too if I wanted to play it so I took it off and just play it on PC/tablet. It's nice to have something easy to play like this

Only bad part of the game so far is that I haven't pulled Seele yet

I don't think HSR needs its own general topic considering we already have the gacha game general and HSR discussion isn't making it move that much faster than it normally goes. That being said, I'm definitely enjoying the game a lot so far. It's made for a very worthy replacement for Princess Connect ReDive (RIP global server) on my phone.

Agreed, the fanbase's characterization of the main character has been a lot of fun.

Still trying to get Seele, and after that probably saving for Kafka. Really enjoying this one so far. Much more fun writing than Genshin, though I'm only through the Belobog stuff atm

Okay preservation + turtle meta is real lol. Got off ice planet, Sim World 3 unlocked. Recommended level 45. I'm stuck at 40 because no EQ2 yet. Whatever might as well try to get some quick mats and relics.

First run, I actually won lol. Out shielded Gapard at his own game. Guess it shows how insane fire MC is

I got Himeko as my free 5-star from the beginner banner and she's my only 5-star character. I didn't pull for Seele at all because I'm all in for Silver Wolf and not spending any passes or Jade until she arrives.

Himeko, Natasha, Serval, Seele, and (not playable yet but seen in the story) Kafka have some pretty nice ones.

The other girls are more in the small/moderate range, and there are a couple of flat lolis too. The female player character (her default name is Stelle but you can name her whatever you want) wears really baggy clothes, so it's hard to get a handle on how big she might be under them.

I'm def gonna be saving up for Kafka. Love her design and using her in the intro

I got Clara as a 5-star and she's deceptively strong. Like really strong but it's mostly based on her counter attack. Interesting character.

You get up to 30 by leveling your account level.
You get 10 Premium ones after reaching a certain level.

Pretty sure you get a bunch once you kill the first major story boss.

And also, the 80 rolls thing is a bit deceptive. I've done way more than 80.

By playing the game lol. Income might seem slow at first, but as you progress you unlock so many more things that just let's the gems flow in.

March 7th shield's seem like they are so much better then anyone elses special in earlygame. Least in fights where enemies actually deal notable damage.

Not only do you no sell several attacks per shield but you get that counter chip damage too.

Im another one that doesnt have Seele. My only 5 star is Bronya. Im saving up for some future unit that sparks my interest. Im pretty sure Im not going to bother getting Kafka or Silver Wolf.

Yep. I like how even though on the surface, characters kits seem fairly simple (1 Active, 1 Ult, 1 Passive) but they make them actually diverse and useful, to the point that the starter characters are actually pretty dang decent.

For example what you talked about with March. Most games just make her a shield and go home. It's dope they added a counter mechanic to it AND gave her freeze on her ult

Bronya is a great pull tho. Seems fairly future proof since she enables whatever DPS you have to get more turns and dmg

Am I blind? Ive read that pity carries over on limited character banners, but I dont see anywhere on Seeles banner that says what Im at. Ive been using ticket, but no Jade as a if I get her, good, but if not then the progress is there for someone else later.
