Indeed. Happened to Lakers Vogel too.

Some coaches even win Coach of the Year and then get fired the SAME year.

They will probably get Nurse though.

Some coaches set their team up for success, get fired, and some other dude reaps all the benefits. Poor Mark Jackson.

Jackson did a solid job laying some of the groundwork for the Warriors. His terrible offensive gameplan that was stuck a decade+ in the past also held them back - they wouldn't have reached the heights they did if they kept him. Not to mention the wacky/toxic shit he was doing behind the scenes.

I always wonder if theyd have won a chip with Jackson. Curry is still curry and those were his god years, klay was still klay..

Id say they definitely dont win the chip in 2014, but maybe get at least one later.

He should have called timeout multiple times in both of the last two games they played against the heat. He really did a terrible job.

I think its harsh for him to lose his job over that, but they were a one seed and lost to an eight seed, and their team top to bottom is stacked.

somebody had to take the fall

They absolutely destroyed the heat game 2 without giannis and then Giannis played great games four and five. And the heat were literally almost out of the playoffs. They were trailing the bulls after losing the first playin game

I know Jimmy is the goat, but they should have beat the heat. Or at the very least not lost in five games. Thats crazy. Losing is one thing but in five games?!

Bud had a lot of in game gaffes throughout his coaching career there. They did win a championship but it feels like he really squandered a lot of good teams over the years.

Yes Giannis was out most of this series, but to lose it 4-1 to the 8 seed is pathetic. Not calling those timeouts was malpractice as a coach.

Even in the playoffs, he was playing his top guys like 34 minutes a game. Like it's the playoffs dude, play Giannis 40 minutes you get consistent days off.

Yep. And he's known to be really slow to make adjustments - something that even Giannis, maybe the most coach-friendly star in the league, has started to grumble about.
