Seems like this universe is all over the place. I'm not even sure I really like any of the characters that I've seen so far. I guess the little green alien is cool...I watched the 2022 Halo show and liked it btw but I mean I was already a fan of Master Chief.

I think Star War work in series of three. I would start with the three last. Of course, it could better to start with the first of the 1970 but I doubt the technology maintain today; it is more an art of theatre now.

The first theatrical release, Episode 4. But its the first movie in the whole franchise

I always recommend theatrical release order before anything else. Makes the most sense to me

Theatrical Release (4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9)

Some people will try to recommend something called the Machete Order to you, which is watching 4 and 5, then doubling back and watching 1, 2, and 3 then finishing with 6, but that's a really bad way for a first timer to go through the films.

Watch the original trilogy (Episodes 4-6) first, and if you're bored check out the sequel trilogy. Try not to watch the prequels as they only make the series worse.

I would strongly refrain from avoiding the sequels. Definitely try them.

Not to say they don't have flaws (all these movies have flaws to varying degrees) but a large part of the discourse surrounding the sequels involves how various plot/character threads are carried over 4, 5, and 6.

You might have a different relationship with those films having not been exposed to this stuff for decades like most fans.

Yeah Idk if I can sit trough that. It's hard to get immersed in those older movies. I'm probably just going to pick a random one from recently and do research when I don't understand something.

If you're sure you will watch all of them, I'd go in chronological order. 1, 2, 3, rogue one, 4, 5, etc...

If you think you may give up, I'd start with release order of 4, 5, 6, and then toss rogue one in there too.

The original films have aged very well in the technical department. You'd be doing yourself a disservice by skipping them.

Start like most intelligent people with the OT of Episode 4,5, and 6 as A New Hope was actually the first movie released and introduces you to the SW universe the proper way.

Never listen to anyone telling you to watch them in chronological order the very first time, they are trying to ruin SW for you as you will be lost and confused.

I know a friend on xbox live who was tricked into watching Episode 1 as the very first SW movie and they gave up 15 mins in because some asshole wanted to troll him. When he watch it in proper release order he enjoyed it, and when he watch EP1 later actually finishing it he liked it.
