I usually go for 1 or 4 depending on how much depth the character creator has.

I try to create a character as close to myself as possible...so a monstrosity

Vacant expression, stupid name, even stupider backstory.

Since I'll be seeing it for most of the game, a babe with a great ass.

If it's 3rd-person, the absolute tiniest "loli" possible, because it blocks less of the screen.

I go online and copy sliders

Generally I try to recreate a celebrity for the lulz. I'll occasionally make myself though.

My primary Skyrim character was Snoop Dogg.. my primary Fallout 4 character was Danny DeVito.

I create a character that reflects me in its behavior and personality, but not in appearance. I can do this in RPGs where the character is more or less a blank slate. In games where they have a distinct personality, such as Saints Row, that gets trickier, if not outright impossible. I've tried to make a silly character, like a near-naked purple-skinned fatso with a feminine voice, but after an hour or so the novelty of it wears thin. So I just settle on something that is, at the least, physically satisfactory.

Since character creation games tend to have absolute garbage hairstyles for non-white peeps (ironically enough video games from creators in the west, who you kind of just assume would be from more "melting pot"/more diverse regions, tend to be way worse at it compared to japanese and korean creator games, lol. Seriously, monster hunter world and something like nioh/wild hearts/wo long has something for everyone. The koreans tend to have character creation fashion down to a science looking at stuff like black desert online), I almost always opt to make a attractive lady.

I think outriders was the last time I made a dude since that game at least had some sorta' cornrows.

(Probably the one hair style damn near every single black character had. I think a fade mighta' been in there somewhere, lol).

I always make 'em hot. Sometimes that means a woman, sometimes a dude. Just depends.

I went with someone attractive. On skyrim I spent a fair amount of time crafting a female orc I'd consider boning. And that's just cause after 2 games before I had never played a orc and said fuck it let's do it.

Ended up being fun enough a made a male orc that I wanted to look more like a typical orc warrior.

I hated skyrim for I found elves the hardest to make attractive. And elves always been my go to
