Pretty dumb movie overall with some scenes I genuinely liked, actors I really liked, and a pretty good musical score.

However my biggest takeaway is that this is a movie with Sean Bean where he doesn't die in it, he lives at the end. This movie is literally cursed.

Presumably they were planning a sequel with him where things would go less well.

Prince Paris is too wimp to arrow Brad Pitt to the knee. Why did he killed Hector Barbossa like that when his father kissed the hand of the man that killed his father. They really have biased take about how dumb their religion is by allowing the wooden horse to enter their impregnable fortress.

It was really contrived how they did most of the movie to make it seem like the story from the myth so yeah.

But even 20 years ago it was pretty funny seeing orlando bloom go from the badass in lotr and pirates of the caribbean to the pathetic wimp in this movie who also happens to shoot brad pitt in the back while he's embracing a woman.

Don't even get me started on brad pitt

Always thought Eric Bana was kind of underrated, had a quietness to his acting in many of his roles that I liked

Is this a precursor to "how come they were clean shaven in tdkr?"

Lol some of the lines in the movie were so cringe, I half wondered if a character was gonna say "they're going to be talking about [this event] in ancient greece class in college!"

He was Odysseus. The sequel would be him taking 10 years to sail home, screwing some hot sorceresses, murdering a bunch of dudes who were trying to cuck him, and then living happily with his wife, growing old, and eventually dying in his bed.

He's kind of the worst part of both movies.

Hah, not from lack of trying. They were so desperate to make him seem super straight that it seems rose byrne's entire character point in the movie is to be his beard

From what I remember, the fight scenes were well filmed. No super close up shaky cam with a million cuts.

Going by what I read, Hector and his cousin had a relationship(which was common with older and younger men) and the movie did so hard to remove that portion. Achilles' sudden fury over his death could be seen as strange as it was only his cousin but eh.

Great fights, especially the duels. Awful movie everywhere else. Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut is an infinitely better movie, but Orlando Bloom still sucks in that one too.

Ok so... the director's/extended cut is 3 hours long. That's roughly an extra 20 minutes of footage to flesh out the characters.

I've actually never seen kingdom of heaven either in any form. Missed it in theaters and just never caught it on TV or anything
