Let's say you have been emailing a department for months, asking to discuss an issue related to a medical approval process. Let's say you mentioned no less than 4 times (including a letter on top of the submission saying so) that you did not have time before the submission deadline to include all relevant information, and would like to discuss it with someone and give them more information/paperwork. Now let's say you receive this email: *** https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/0/6/AAGQPmAAEYGq.png ***** Does this email convey to you "We hear your requests for a discussion and would like to resolve your issue" or "We have already decided against you, and would like to answer any questions you may have about why"? I'm sure you can guess what it ended up meaning, but I'm struggling to understand why they sent the email that they did. --- Phantom Dust. I'm confused but I would say that email sounds "positive" If the situation ended up being the second one, the only thing I can think of is that the writer isn't a native English speaker doesn't understand the implication of "work with," and instead meant to say something like "notify" or "contact" --- while you slept, the world changed ...
