What did we do that we probably wont need to next time and what should we do we either were slow on the uptake or didnt do this this time?

I saw a dating profile the other day that said the "bravest" thing she did was travel to three continents during the height of the pandemic.

Honestly, not much.

We couldn't even get half the population to wash their hands on a regular basis, simply because a doctor that voted for Hilary Clinton suggested it.

It created an entire population of people that went from listening to every word their doctor said for 50+ years to suddenly ignoring them when they suggested to take a vaccine, all because a Democrat won the Presidential election.

Cloth masks are least effective at stopping the spread of a virus. And disposable kn-95 masks for everyone isn't logistically feasible. So you need to stockpile kn-95 masks now if you want some in the next pandemic.

This is a dark thing to say and I don't actually like the thought but it being more deadly might actually be better; the people who refuse to take precautions dying faster and not spreading it as much as covid did since it spread very well could actually reduce the severity of the outbreak.

I don't want us to curtail a virus over a pile of dead bodies those so it still sucks

We learned we're all going to die when there's an even more deadly pandemic out there.

Also, that our supply chains suck and aren't close to resilient.

A Half Ass shut down, printing trillions of dollars, bankrupting countless businesses, and the eviction moratorium was a terrible idea.

This. Like I said a bit earlier, a virus that's too deadly can burn itself out by killing the host before it spreads as much. Covid being deadly enough to be dangerous yet keeping enough of its victims healthy enough not to notice it for a long while made it spread really well.

We've learned that next time, the appropriate course of action will be to immediately abandon all hope for humanity

What did we learn? We learned that Americans are so entitled and privileged that they don't truly understand what it means to actually lose freedom. Idiot Americans actually think being told to wear masks for a period of time to help contain the spread of a sickness is a legit loss of freedom. They legitimately thought they were having their freedom taken from them. I mean.......how flucking entitled does a society need to be to completely lose sight of what freedom actually is and think what we had to go through as a society can actually be misconstrued as having your freedoms taken from you?

That is what we learned. We learned how privileged, entitled and spoiled American society is. On top of how dumb and ignorant it already was.

I did. My question still stands.

COVID could have been a great learning opportunity and yet it seems like we learned so little that we are dumber than we started.

That people are fucking nasty and they are back to being just as gross in public.

Americans know nothing about personal hygiene and will get themselves killed and everyone else if another outbreak were to happen.

I remember in a store there was a man at the self check out who was wearing a mask that was covering his chin. He couldn't open the bag. He picked his nose, then licked his finger that he just put in his nose, and then he proceeded to open the bag. ****ing gross as hell.
