Lots of awesome set pieces, and they kept introducing fun ideas at a great pace.

It is a bit of a product of its time in terms of all the quips and deprecation in the dialogue. (there is not one time in the movie they want to shut up and just let something be menacing or impactful on its own.)

And it's not a very original story structure. (This movie wants to be Guardians of the Galaxy real bad.) But everything they do is wildly entertaining.

I have a crush on Sophia Lillis now >_> They managed to make tiefling horns dainty and feminine. Wildshape is a very cool power. She even turns into a Doe!

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

the entire scene is kinda framed as a joke because of how small he is and that he went and got another dominant giantess gf afterwards... but you're right plus the ending with the tablet

Definitely agree. It was a super fun blockbuster which is all it needed to be but tonally was really flat. It had the structure of a campaign where they just bounce around all over the place ticking off boxes on their quest but there were a few times I wanted them to take a breath and explore something a little, like the Underdark. Overall a ton of fun and I hope it gets a sequel that irons this stuff out a little.
