Most galaxy brain play ever by a bot just now

I pulled their Iron Man on 4 using White Queen. On 5 I played it on right since it was close lane. But they played Rogue on right to steal back the Iron Man! Then played their own Iron Man on 6.

Their other plays were a disaster so I still won, but still.

So apparently The Collector does not gain power from swapping hands on Turn 6 via Mindscape.

I thought I had a great big brain play and everything

some bots always have Daredevil mode and can see what you played before choosing their own cards, thats probably how that happened

A few months ago they said Collector not buffing from Mindscape was not intended behavior, but I guess they havent fixed it yet

They revealed first. My gambit didn't go off. They see they are winning right by 1 and spam Thanos Snap.

Then Adam Warlock goes off and makes their Dark Hawk + Mystique weaker and I win.

You bet I spammed a snap emote there.

I had someone bad manners earlier when it was a T1 District X and all my cards were complete ass. It was like cool, you basically won because of Ego like RNG

Guy created an 8 power carnage on cloning vats. I played red skull there and shang'd it on 6.

I love that type of play. And the opposite, dodging Shang with Typhoid Mary, or playing out enough cards without priority so that a Devil Dinosaur drops below 9, their Shang misses, then when your cards flip up its like Moon Girl or Agebt Coulson so it grows back up

Well I got to 85. Will have to see how sweaty it is to get 100 cubes in the last week though because I really want that card back

I hit 40 this season finally.

Just lost 8 cubes to a Patriot mirror match where the other guy was using Super Skrull. His turn 6 flip was Super Skrull and Onslaught in the dark dimension

I'm just trying to get to 60 for this mystery variant for the month and nothing works.

I played one guy 4 times in 5 matches

well they changed it so infinite players can only play each other so i imagine past 70 you'll find the same players a lot since that used to be the time you'd start playing infinite players

Skrull just hit series 3 so it will be significantly more common now. Plus it was a really bad card against almost every top deck in the months prior to the patch (they used very few Ongoings and the ones they did use would be beneficial to your opponent if Skrull copied them) so thats why you werent seeing it much before.

I'd wager it's still not a very good card. It's good in this specific scenario of a Patriot mirror match which I'm only seeing when I play Patriot.

Yeah that's the deck I've been playing the most but it's pretty hard to beat Galactus. I added a Debrii to try to counter those decks a little bit so we'll see how it goes.

Hit 60 with Dinohawk. Honestly thank god for bots giving me 8 cubes every 5 games. Also Spider-Man is super underrated in this deck. Sure it's a 2 cube winner but I'll take what I can get.

Just beat someone by playing Black Widow 4 straight times into the Cloning Vats and then having a Turn 6 Gambit hit a 1/10 shot to kill the only card that could have possibly won the game for me if he hit it

Is there any way to just filter out the variants received from maxing a card? I want to see my cards and their variants but it is so littered with the foil background variants that it is distracting.

You can filter out everything except your one favorite version of each card, but theres no way to filter out just infinity splits

Bah.

Also I think I can get onboard with Cerebro 3, especially now that I have Bast and Valk. Just played a couple games and really fucked peeps up lol

I still think the game rigs matchups. Not so much to specifically counter a player but just to make things "interesting" which hoses one player or the other depending on which player gets the bad half.

It's all anecdotal and people have done tests to prove otherwise but yeah I think the game rigs your matchmaking too.

There's too many examples I've experienced of playing a Zoo deck and seeing Pool 1/2 decks. Then you switch to a deck with lots of series 4/5 cards and suddenly all of your opponents are playing similar decks.

I think there's a hidden weight to every card that gives your entire deck a "deck cost" number. Then it factors in "deck cost" when you're matching against opponents.

I don't think they're intentionally putting you into bad matchups but the decks I see from my opponent really seem to depend on whatever I'm playing.

Just got Valkyrie with priority as the fourth card on my location from X-Mansion and my opponent got Magneto, felt bad

Yeah to me it's less something that is easily tested and more a "well I changed decks and now I'm seeing a bunch of different decks archetypes than I was seeing before and repeatedly at that" and this will be in the same sitting.

Like I think people are not testing the right thing. I want something like "if I run this decklist what are my odds of seeing card X Y and Z in the other deck"

I think for example if I run Stature I will see more discard decks. If I run Patriot I will see more enchantress/rogue decks. If I run Ronan I will see more Devil Dino decks, etc. It's not about overall win/loss but just specific match-ups. Certain decks like self destroy or Lockjaw tends to mirror a lot too I notice-- Like I play Nimrod I see more Nimrod decks than I normally see otherwise.

I mean anecdote is meaningful in certain strange situations if you're testing extreme edge cases. Just as tests with data can be misleading if you're testing the wrong aspects of the data.

I remember I used to play this game called WWE Supercard and people who said that a certain pool of like 6 to 8 Super Rares were way more common as drops from the rewards board than the rest of the pool of like 50 other SR. The devs rebutted by posting STATISTICS.

The problem is the drop statistics tested included King of the Ring drops which were like 95% of the Super Rare drops which did not experience this bug.

Eventually the problem was silently patched out. No one admitted anything but it was extremely obvious when the flip got switched to anyone who played a lot of exhibition games.

Their collection filter cant even differentiate between cards that move and a card like Cyclops that says move out in its flavor text, how could you possibly think they have the technology to analyze what your decks strategy is and pair you against people who perfectly counter you (or run the same strategy as you, if thats the particular flavor of this conspiracy that you believe)

I dont think the front end search functions available to the player say anything about what devs have access to.

And I dont even know how confident I am its not just RNG, I just think the consistency of funny coincidences is interesting to note.

Yeah I'm sure it's RNG but it's just WEIRD that it seems to happen so often you don't see a card or a deck type for days or weeks. Then you start playing a new deck and suddenly that's all you're seeing.

Different focuses of development. You might as well argue that the balance of the game can't be good because there is no thought put into the card filters too.

Matchmaking is pretty vital to the function of the game and it wouldn't really be as complicated as you might think to measure a lot of different factors when determining your opponent. People have already said it factors CL and Rank-- giving each card some other factors to throw into the mix and giving each individual deck a value that draws from those that also influences matchmaking wouldn't be some sort of inconceivable leap in tech.

The alternative is a bunch of people are having some weird bias on random data based on "???"

Like I will stress I don't even mind it-- it's not some sort of grand conspiracy theory where Im losing games and blaming this-- overall I don't think it costs me more games than it wins me. I just know if I have a long session and play one deck many times and then swap decks, most of the time I will start seeing weird things I never saw playing the other deck. Without fail. And it's always glaringly weird like not seeing Valkyrie for 30 games then seeing her 60% of the time after swapping decks.

Like consider the following hidden values, each card having one and your deck also having them summed up and weighed until matchmaking

Speed
Control
Combo
Interaction
Test1
Test2

Maybe they intentionally rig up decks that have mutually high Test values to test match-ups on cards they want to see interactions between. Maybe they rig up speed decks vs control decks, or combo decks against one another. The possibilities are endless. And this is just a hypothetical by one person thrown out. With a team of developers who have all the data and game theory at their fingertips you could come up with all sorts of things.

And frankly they would be stupid not to rig the matchmaking in some ways to get data to help balance the game with.

You're talking about statistics, which is the most easily tested thing possible

Entire galaxies have been identified due to data that is 0.001% off the expected statistical prediction

i've noticed this too

Yeah you definitely seem to get matched with different decks after you change your own. But I don't think the matchmaking is that smart. What I could see happening is like your MMR not being live and a deck swap doing something to your MMR

If I'm changing the data based on variables you're not accounting for or properly weighing your statistical analysis is worthless.
