I decided to quit because I'm sick of spending $80 a week on coffee.

The first day was atrocious. Like a dumbass I decided to quit cold turkey instead of gradually ease off it.
I was fine until 10am and it hit me hard. Cold waves of nausea running through my body, feeling delirious, unable to concentrate, head pounding like it's never pounded before, feeling like I wanted to vomit. I ended up having to go home from work early. I pretty much slept 12pm all the way through to 6am the next morning in pain.

Fuck caffeine. I hate that it's too socially acceptable to be addicted to caffeine.

Damn I'm drinking a coffee + coca cola from Wendy's right now.

I felt caffeine and nicotine withdrawals when I woke up about 2 hours ago. Usually this means I had a good long uninterrupted sleep (around 8 hours)

It feels nice alleviating the withdrawals

someone posted on this board a while back about caffeine pills, and how they were preferable to stuff like coffee, and a cheaper alternative, if that helps

yep

like $3 for 100 pills, 200mg a pop. I take one when I wake up and another around lunch time. Helps me stay alert without the jittery anxiety that coffee gives me, and dont feel the crash until its bed time and it actually helps me fall asleep instead of staying up super late.

I did quit them for a bit to see what would happen and those withdrawals were awful too but only lasted a couple days.

I quit cold turkey when I went to rehab. Didn't phase me. And I drink a fair amount of caffeine. 6+ 12 Oz sodas a day. Maybe its cause I've been addicted to far harder shit.

Hell I honestly wonder why I can't quit smoking. I go 12 and a half hours a day without one cause I cant smoke at work and we don't get breaks. I don't wear a patch either as that doesn't seem to help with urges just withdrawal symptoms

Also unless you're getting like, an Americano or Coffee of the Day, you're drinking more sugar than coffee.

Could be playing into the effects too, if you're used to having an insanely spiked blood sugar level and going to relatively low in comparison.

Depending on where tc goes, you can spend $6 twice a day every day of the week easily, on coffee.

I've seen Talls at Starbucks go for over $7 in some places.
