Beat the King's Hand again and got my second stem cell.

He was weirdly easy this time. Might have gotten lucky with extremely good drops. Had a wolf trap, a powerful bat (from hotline miami I assume) that has the ability to do a huge flurry of hits when the enemy is immobile, and a turret that reduced my damage taken by 25 percent when I was near it.

3BC without the health fountains sounds extremely mean >_>

Here's some advice that got me through the lack of healing.

Every level has 2 guaranteed food items. Usually hidden in walls.

Bank, Fractured Shrines, Stilt Village, and Ossuary* have guaranteed food stores. You can also buy flask refills there for 20,000 each.

Morass of the Banished has a guaranteed lore room with guaranteed food in a hidden area in that lore room.

Take the gastronomy mutation.

*I can't remember if this food store is available at 3bc or if you need 4bc.

I would always get to a place where there was a queen or princess and she had a knight as well, I would repeatedly get my ass kicked and rage quit for weeks at a time.

The next update is also buffing Necromancy. I'm not sure how much better it will be in practice, but they're doing away with it not working above 50% health. It's just now you gain recovery with it instead of health. So on paper it looks a hell of a lot better at least.

Necromancy was one of the main sources of healing once upon a time. It was so good you'd usually take it no matter what your main stat was. But then it got nerfed into oblivion. So I guess the upcoming change is an attempt to rebalance it.

Tainted flask is also getting a buff which is the one I'm most excited for

Yeah Tainted Flask is one I've never messed around with much. Mostly because Brutality is the build I go for the least. The new version looks like a pretty significant buff.

Yeah but they have an attack you can't parry too. Plus Slumbering Sanctuary has a guaranteed Cursed Chest, so if you get the timing wrong trying to parry the Golem's punch, there goes your run.
Oh that's fair. Something I don't think I had to worry about too much because I only really derp around in 0bc/1bc every now and again.

I never got any more of the boss cells.

Well as the topic title says, it's a hard game. I've got all the boss cells but have been stuck on 4BC for a while. I imagine it's very unlikely that I'll ever fully beat the game. I choke pretty frequently during boss fights, and I don't even think practicing against them in the Training Room will help much with that. Just gotta hope I get a run where I can really melt the later bosses.

Forgotten Sepulcher is an absolute fucking hellscape on higher difficulties.

Giant mobs of enemies with teleporting chasers and ranged units that attack through the floor and hidden surprise exploding bats. And you can't stay out of the light for more than 10 or so seconds.

I like it. Elites drop gold lights which there's a lot of them on 5bc.
