I am not personally attacking you. I am calling you a liar in a game of calling people liars and people lying. I remember blowing up on Lopen back in Yu-Gi-Oh Mafia because he accused me of lying about my work, which was not only completely false but also extremely offensive. My integrity was being questioned, and I was offended that anyone would think I'd resort to such a low tactic. Heck, there was even a comment from a previous Mafia game from (I think) Plum who was like, "I don't understand why Kirby was so busy that he couldn't just sneak off to the bathroom and check in or something". Which was just as offensive like, kindly, y'all aren't me. Don't try to pretend like you know my work better than I do ffs

Sbell, shame on you for trying to use Ulti's work against him. That's outside meta that really doesn't belong here, especially if you are accusing people of lying about their personal lives just for a game of Mafia. Like, that's seriously disgusting. I don't care if Ulti is lying about his work or not, but that is not a substantial argument to make, and you should feel ashamed of yourself for bringing that up.

I don't care if you're scum or town, or if Ulti's scum or town, but that kind of trash argument is toxic and should not be brought up here. While I think Ulti is scum, if he's actually town, then you better feel remorse for attacking someone's character and using that against them in a game of Mafia.

Putting aside alignments or whatever, let me be clear: get your fucking acts together and don't resort to outside meta to accuse somebody. That's petty, and we're all better than that.

I don't know. I really don't believe that someone here would lie about life commitments and such... It's possible, but I don't believe it. Especially from Ulti... But who knows, I may have to eat my own hat later on.

Not only that, but Ulti sounds genuine in his emotions here.

I don't really care about his inactivity... What I DO care about is that the two posts he has had he doesn't explain why. Just saying "Lea is scum because...." or "Mzero is town because...." would go a long way for me. So let's see if we can get a bit more?

Also, just to be clear, I can believe that Ulti would be more active if he were scum than if he was town - BUT I do not think he would be lying about being at work.

While recently Ulti has been more active I cannot set his activity to a predictable pattern yet while for all I know he could be just a nilla. So I dont see that argument as the smoking gun sbell makes it out to be.

I will say that there was one thing mentioned that I am curious about tho
Ulti, when did you notice Sbell bringing up the 'all 3 scum' bit?

For the record I get it, I have no integrity in mafia and when I'm scum I do everything in the book and outside the book to win. Emotional manipulation included. Its why being town is so much harder because I can't use those tactics to win and I have to actually do work and I'm a very lazy person.

But when i re-read ulti and brought up his activity he had more than enough time to explain why he was able to be more active here than in previous excursions. He chose to take the path of "poor me and how dare you". I'll take my lumps here but I still feel real good about where my vote is and if this makes me a jerk at this moment in time i'll have to accept that.

I don't condone Chris telling Sultan to play up his concussion during Star Trek Mafia, if there's even actual evidence for that in the scum chat.

Mafia is a game of lying, I agree, but there are lines that shouldn't be crossed. If you need to rely on metagaming about peoples' personal lives to win a game, then I call that a skill issue.

But enough of that. This discussion is something to shelve for the afterparty.

I am just not used to Sbell making these kinds of arguments normally.

There was something I wanted to address from the previous topic, but I can't remember what it was. I'm going to be completely honest, I glossed over the rest of Sbell's argument since the initial premise was enough to agitate me.

Gonna step away to cook dinner and then later review the last parts of Topic 1 to see what it was that stuck out at me.

Or idk, maybe while I'm away, I'll be accused of lying about cooking dinner. God forbid I end up in a situation where I'm waiting for something to finish cooking, so then I check GameFAQs to comment on the topic to pass the time, and then I get accused of not actually cooking dinner! Oh, the horror!

I do not believe the reaction of Kirby is townish or scummish, just Kirbyish. It is consistent with Kirby's feeling about out of game speculation.

I don't believe Ulti is exonorated by showing a timesheet and I think him trying to derail the discussion into that so hard looks bad for him. He is moving the argument into an easily defensible position rather than focusing on game content where he is more soundly beaten.

As said before, there is another angle to take-- Scum Ulti would be more concerned with not failing his team in Mafia than town Ulti would so would be more likely to take his attention at work. The difference in behavior IS present regardless of whether he is at work or not, him being busy at work or not isn't completely relevant here.

Some general thoughts while cooking:

I'd really like to see some of isquen tonight and hear his reactions to and interpretation of events so far. I feel like he's definitely been hiding a bit.

If corrik has anything to offer re: lea i think that would be extremely valuable because other than him, I don't think I've seen a single peep from anyone about lea being scummy.
