I mean like, you were spoiled enough to have had a car your entire adult life but your DL got suspended or something, or you couldn't afford a car because you lost a job, or something else like your car was broke down and getting repaired so you had to take the bus/train. What was your experience like?

I live in a large city with good public transit, this was an intentional choice because I hate driving and it's a huge money sink

Where I am it is literally illegal for me to drive due to medical conditions, so...

I mean, I've always had a car, but parking on campus when I was a postdoc and parking in the city for my current job would be stupidly expensive, so I just take bus/subway.

Yes, sometimes the bus shrugs at you

What public transit?
The bus don't go out here.

I used to take the bus.

Nope. Haven't needed to take public transportation since I was a teenager.

Not regularly. I covered for my mom's job though and had to.

I seen an old dude with a lime green whale tail tho. Made everything worth it.

That's pretty rural. Even where I'm at there's plenty of rural farmland but you can still dial a ride.

Nope. Haven't needed to take public transportation since I was a teenager.

That must be pretty nice. I've had a few occasions where it was the only option after I was already used to having my own transportation.

Looking at the bus route map, it would take twice as long to walk to the nearest bus stop than it does to just drive all the way to work.

I took "Da Bus" back when I lived in HI and worked at the airport.

I did for about a month and it sucked.

I live in America, in a state few people realize exist, in a town far fewer care about.

What public transportation?

Not in my adult life, but, I did have to take 2 buses to get to and from school freshman year. The busses only came once an hour, so, after school, if the first bus was even a few minutes late, Id either have to wait an hour, or hoof it the rest of the way home, about 4 miles.

I did for a few months. I lived in a pretty transit-friendly place (Long Island). The trains there are pretty reliable and easy but the busses aren't nearly so. There's definitely areas that are dead zones for transit as well.
