Saw this comedy reel on insta talking about how the flash is the fastest dude in the universe but then it shows the cameraman who's recording him casually running next to him

Gave me an idea for a movie where the cameraman is the main character and shows his struggles and how he has to survive or put up with a lot of crap being the cameraman or something

Hardcore Henry is in first person the entire movie, so it's through the main character's eyes so technically it's the cameraman.

Reminds me of that video of a track race and the cameraman is outrunning them all so he can keep a good shot

Never saw them but weren't The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield like that? Oh looks like I didn't understand the question.

I guess I should've addressed the found footage thing. But I was meaning more directly about the struggles of being a cameraman, not really the cameraman just recording movie things

Might be possible a movie like that just hasn't been made yet, or it was made but it wasn't very good so no one remembers it. Would be pretty hard to make an interesting movie about the struggles of being a cameraman, unless someone like Larry David was the cameraman, now that could be pretty hilarious.

This. It's basically just a movie version of a FPS.

Sort of Cloverfield. I guess Rob is technically the main character, but Hud is holding the camera for like 90% of it and hes very much involved in the story.

I don't really know if the "struggles" of a camera would really be enough to make an entire movie.

I mean, how much drama is there in:

"Guys, give me a minute. I have to swap out the memory in my camera".

*Groans from actors*

"Ok, we're good now!"

I kinda see what TC is saying. It'd be a cameraman in a world where the things he's recording are extraordinary in some way, not a serious drama about camera operating. The closest thing is probably found footage but something closer would be like, I dunno, a world where everything that happens in movies is real and camera men are forced to follow these dangerous events while they happen.

I guess I can see a movie where the story is about a cameraman covering something like a war zone for a TV News station, but I can't see the movie being solely about him getting in position to get the correct shot or anything.

In the situation you describe, it would seem, to me at least, like the story would still be whatever the cameraman is shooting, not the cameraman himself.

Maybe I'm just not understanding what's being asked.

Kinda like a movie version of the graphic novel the Marvels but with a video camera rather than a regular camera.

Marvels follows several major fights that happened through out Marvel comics history but from the perspective of a journalist who's always there to witness the fights. It's a pretty good read. Shows how easy it is to form a negative opinion of the x men or mutants in general cause through his eyes you see them as the normal public tends to see them.
