Their options are essentially to act now and risk another Depp situation where they get a ton of bad PR for killing the career of someone who turned out to be innocent, or to keep Majors for now and risk another Miller situation where they get a ton of bad PR for standing by someone who turns out to be an absolute monster. Waiting for more information is kinda off the table here - it's not like the accused is someone like Mahershala Ali, where they have the option of just delaying one film while they swap around the release schedule a bit (and I want to stress emphatically that I'm only using Ali as an example because he's the lead of a presumably standalone MCU flick that hasn't started filming yet, I'm not suggesting anything about the dude personally) - Majors plays the character that they are building three whole Phases of a multi-billion dollar media juggernaut around. He's literally their most important character for the next several years worth of big budget movies and TV shows that form a huge part of their core marketing for their entire streaming platform. With the multiverse angle, Kang is probably the easiest character to recast, because they can pull the variant card or just CGI a blue face on a mocap actor, but they need to decide now, and if they pick wrong then the fact that they're still riding the bad press for getting the Depp situation wrong means that this could be utterly disastrous for them. Like I said, all of that is putting aside any thoughts on his guilt or the crime itself. On that, all I'll say is that if it's true (and it really does look true based on the information that we have), then absolutely *fuck* this guy, and I hope that he struggles to even get roles alongside Sorbo and Carano in a no-budget piece of trash propaganda flick. And most importantly of all, I hope that poor woman in hospital is okay and manages to not only get a swift return to physical health, but isn't left with too many emotional scars going forward.
