Alright, I got Tanba and the detective and we're going to a soapland to get real paid. I also found a gold plate worth $100K yen, so things are going preeeetty well right now.

Great game, absolute garbage post-game though that most people seem to either ignore or just gloss over, and it's required for the platinum which is dumb as hell.

I could've sworn there was a dude selling good weapons out of a wagon in the upper map, but he seems to have disappeared. Might have to use that one Chinatown shop to upgrade, now that I'm going to sneak into some yakuza warehouse. I changed most of the characters' jobs now: Tanba is a musician, Adachi's the shield-carrying security guard, and Saeko's an idol (she'll probably end up being the healer). Sadly, Tanba's piss-poor has gotten him killed recently, so I'm gonna need to fix that somehow. Maybe I can find more random military vests and/or gold plates.

Yeah, it's pretty enjoyable. A lot of "race around town for busy work" stuff, but I guess that's sorta expected.

The 500,000-yen kart has no acceleration, handling, or grip? Must have some kickass upgrades.

I'm glad these respawning briefcases/boxes are save-scummable, haha. Found a booster that increases all my stats. (Put it in the item box for now, of course. I rarely use those types of consumables before I have all party members, if ever.)

Daaamn, I found a Bulletproof Shield for Adachi at Geomijul HQ. Gave him +78 attack, haha.

I wonder if that other chick'll fill the roster vacuum. I think I read the description for some DLC and it mentioned there was another. She had her own chat portrait I think, so that seems the likely solution.

If you're planning to platinum I'd save those.

Yakuza 7 is probably the 2nd best game in the series behind Yakuza 0. It's such a fun experience. Enjoy it >_>

She's not DLC, you just have to do her business side quest up til the first checkpoint then she joins. She's really good, but also not absolutely needed unless you're trying to speedrun/platinum. Also, I fucking love Adachi.

The last 2 party members you get are my favorites

Whoever put a basic health ring in a gold safe deserves a tornado DDT.

You know, that one guy who had the wrecking ball is the only guy I've ever gotten a game over to so far, and only in the second battle when he unloads a gun barrage. I didn't know you get game overs if Ichiban gets KO'd, so that was kind of a surprise. However, I found the Kamulop trade center thing and can get a bulletproof vest (50% bullet reduction), so the next rematch'll be a cakewalk, haha. This mouthguard that reduces MP costs is something I'll have to watch out for, too.

Yeah Ichiban is the only character that can't die. You'll do very well to remember that for future boss fights - trust me.

Yeah, I think that applied to some other RPGs I've played in recent memory. Maybe some Personas.

Whoever put two Pier Reviewers in this dungeon should be given a tornado DDT on the hour, every hour, forever.

Wouldn't say the post game is garbage, it's just the requirement for levels makes it feel like you time warped to 1992. Definitely took me like 15 hours of grinding off Invested Vagabonds.

Yeah, I saw a few of those in the dungeon, but they often ran. If they're going to just take 1 damage from most attacks (maybe they're weak to something, I dunno; I'd have to check), perhaps I can spam my new buddy's Combo Beat as a pseudo-one-shot.

Yeah they will run. You have to hit them with multi-hitting attacks. Your new buddy will definitely help with that. They give massssssssssssssssssive exp.

If the game is gonna throw those beefy damage sponge enemies at me, I almost want to switch Joon to the blademaster (?) class, since that can play off their weaknesses a little more. By the end of those fights, it was basically everyone out of MP and I got by on Saeko's MP-regenerating attacks, haha. Gotta diversify a bit, since it's getting to the point where everything resists blunt damage.

Joon's base job is really good, but I had him be Devil Rocker for a while. The DLC jobs aren't really that bad tbqh.

Yeah, he's not bad as-is, but he just sucks for me now since I don't have any brass knuckles to give him. And I just gave 1.5M to the mechanic girl, so now I'm broke again. Guess it's back to gold plate hunting, haha.

Hmm, guess I'll just grind some of these part-time hero quests for cash. I need about $600K for the mechanic and can maybe find some useful stuff along the way. I also found some tissues for that poor guy sitting on the john for weeks in the park, so it was nice to do a good deed for that day.

The business minigame is a good way to make some cash once you get up the brackets a bit. Without spoiling anything I'll just let you know you'll need some extra cash at some point.

Yeah, I haven't really done the confectionary business too much yet, even though I find street randoms selling me hot tips and schemes. Maybe I'll do some of that later, since it did seem like a good way to make money at first (probably didn't venture too far in because it said I couldn't use my personal finances to help or something).

And let's face it: when you can bring a rooster to a shareholder's meeting, you know you're a bigwig.

My guide can help if it seems obtuse. I tried to break it down in a different way than the game tells you about it.

Business minigame is good for money if you don't have the casino unlocked and don't really care about playing Poker for cash.

Haven't done much today, but I'll see about getting Eri later. Right now, I'm trying to do this Slugger PTH quest and it's going easier than I thought. Rather than go into the dungeon and find some of these assclowns, I just go to the one at the top of Restaurant Row, kill him, save, exit to title, then repeat. Worked 100% so far, though you might have to walk a little out of spawning range to get it to show up.

EDIT: Interesting... If I loaded the save with the gang too far away initially, the slugger wouldn't appear at all. If you spawn nearer to where the slugger normally is and exit that range, then he pops in guaranteed. Maybe I can use this for some other rare enemies, like those trashbag dudes. I'm sure there's going to be one of those quests eventually, haha.

Ohhhh, Eri is that plain-looking girl from the shop. I thought she was going to be someone I haven't met yet, haha.
