As someone with just a Ford Fusion, there have been many times I wished I had an SUV or Truck to carry larger objects at times, but I'd rather not have one as my daily driver though.

More involved answer, vehicle manufacturers have a vested interest in marketing trucks because trucks are not held to the same regulatory standards as a passenger car is

Pickup truck drivers are far and away the worst drivers.

Hell most trucks have more cab space than bed space anymore. And for some reason the owners get real pissy when you point that out.

I find my pickup useful in extreme weather caused by global warming as well.

If you own a pickup and don't have commercial plates because you're using it for your construction company, you have a pickup because you think it makes you more of a man.

I had a few small ones over the years. I used the bed a decent amount of time. Moving, bicycles, hauling large garbage items or drywall and wood. If I ever have 2 cars one will be a small pickup for that stuff again. If they even make small ones anymore. Plus the old ones looked cool to me. Like the 2010 Tacomas.

I usually hate being behind pickup drivers. Slow fucks.

Cant move a fridge in a minivan or other overly tall things.

I would want to put yard waste or timber in the back of a minivan, its much easier to clean out a truck which is designed for such purposes.

Sure you can. If you have one with stow aways seating, you can 100% get a fridge in there. I've done it.

Yes, can you move a 10 foot basketball hoop in a minivan? Of course not.

But like I said before 80% of pickup owners don't even use the truck bed. The ones that own a pickup and use it like a pickup aren't the ones in here defending them. They know what they have nad why the have them.

Maybe it's different in America. But I can't think of anyone I know who has a truck who doesn't use it to haul stuff. Some of them use it all the time, only one uses it rarely and it's still been to help people move.

90% of people are just driving a car that burns more gas. They aren't actually using the utility of a large vehicle.

I own a house, and having a truck is very convenient when I need to go to the lumber yard/ haul trash or whatever.

Plus I love fishing and camping, Im not putting firewood in the back of an SUV.

Not everyone needs them but some people do use their trucks, sure I dont use it for those things every day but it comes in handy.

You don't realize how valuable having that that much space for transportating things is until you need it.

I have to order larger items online usually because I don't have the storage space in my car to buy and retrieve it myself. It's annoying.
