I have no friends, i'm 28 and have no direction in my life (never went to college, have never had a job), have severe mental health issues, still live with my parents, etc.. If you were born confined to a wheelchair for instance, what counts as winning for you is different than it is for me. That affected my social life mostly beyond my control. It also makes me horrible at being a normal member of society. I wanted to find a psychiatrist to get methylphenidate and behavior therapy from, but they're all booked and some ADHD medication is short in supply because college students are using it to study for classes. ADHD also makes making these plans harder on multiple levels. This isn't a mind over matter issue, this shit is a daily struggle. Anyone on CE diagnosed with ADHD would know. I struggle to accomplish or follow through on tasks that don't immediately reward me. I'm terrible at planning. My motivation to do most things is shot and I tend to hyperfocus on shit I don't need. I'm also not built to succeed at work. I'm always asking questions like I can't remember how shit works. They think I'm slow and lazy, because I'm always asking. I takes me longer to think because my mind is always racing, so I'm not the first guy anyone normally goes to to get anything done.
