I can maybe understand people who don't brush in the morning. I forget sometimes if I'm not going out in the morning because I usually always remember to brush before leaving.

But not brushing before bed is incredible. Do people like having dental surgery? That is how you get dental surgery

Ever since high school I've only brushed once before bed, and also had a 12 year period of not seeing a dentist. I had no cavities when I finally saw one again.

I do have the habit of drinking a bit of water and swishing it around a bit after nearly every single thing I eat. I figure that could be helping.

i usually brush twice a day after breakfast and dinner, though for the dinner it may not be directly after. If I havent brushed by the bed time, then I brush then. I also floss most nights. People don't realize how much crap is still in their teeth, even after brushing, until they start flossing regularly.

Once before bed, but I'm a pro flosser. Occasionally I'll brush after breakfast, but my mouth has to feel a certain way to compel me to do that and/or I'm going somewhere (like the dentist) where it will matter.

Legit have never brushed before bed in my adult life and my teeth are in great shape - dentists consistently say I appear to be brushing very well and I've never had a cavity or any other problem. Electric brushes are an absolute game changer for anyone who's never used one.

Makes no sense to brush in the morning and then eat a bunch of crap and drink coffee. The psychos who brush after every meal (30-45 min after to let the acids dissipate of course) are at least understandable.

Cavities and mouth diseases are more about what you eat/drink more than dental hygiene. Not saying you shouldn't brush your teeth, but smoking, chewing tobacco, and consuming high amounts of processed sugar does way more damage than decades of no dental visits.

All of my problems came from impacted wisdom teeth. Please don't wait until your 30s to get them removed if you even think they might cause a problem. I have permanent nerve damage in my jaw because I waited too late to remove a tooth pushing against a nerve in my lower jaw.

And yeah this. If you drink water, then you avoid the #1 cause of cavities, which is soda all day.

I remember when I was a kid and we would sometimes go out to eat for breakfast in the morning. We'd be all ready to go and my dad would be like, "wait, I just need to brush my teeth"

I would constantly get on his case about that. "Why brush your teeth BEFORE eating breakfast? It would be smarter to do it when we get home." He never changed though. He always quipped back "Because I won't do it when we get home, so better now than not at all."

I would think though that most morning-only brushers hopefully do it after breakfast at least or perhaps they usually skip breakfast.

I've been doing okay getting back to once at night, but yeah it's definitely hard to find the motivation overall.

I usually brush three times a day and also floss whenever I brush. I do miss it sometimes (particularly in weekends where there is no daily routine to fit the brushing with) so I picked the penultimate option.

Chances are it's too much, but it's easy to get into habit when you do it since you are a child. And where I live, everybody who is at least low to middle class brushes often.

Yeah I sometimes consider not doing it before bed when I'm tired, but I always end up doing it anyway. Feels wrong. And doing it in the morning is a non-negotiable.

I'll often end up doing it three times, though not often enough to call myself an "after every meal" guy.

If I'm going out for breakfast I'd definitely brush first. If I'm eating breakfast at home, sure, it can wait. But I wouldn't want to be out in public with morning breath.

I had friends who got grossed out when I said I brushed after breakfast though. Like, there were 4 or 5 of them in the room with me, all of whom couldn't imagine eating breakfast before brushing teeth. idk.

I try to brush after meals, though supposedly you're supposed to wait 30 minutes.

I brush at least twice a day, unless if I'm feeling sick or something. And on the subject of brushing, electric toothbrushes have been a real gamechanger for me.

I brush once a day, usually in the evening, and haven't had a cavity in 20 years.

I don't really see the need to brush again in the morning if I already cleaned my teeth at night and I'm just going to eat breakfast. I'll brush again if I need my breath to smell good for something.

I bet that's pretty common. I'm brushing twice a day to make up for a bad history. Feel like I should probably do the whole routine twice a day but it's easier to stick to this way.
