Indeed, although someone pointed out that some of their best picks have been as a result of not getting who they really wanted. They got Micah Parsons because both the CBs they wanted got scooped up right ahead of them. The year they got Dak, Jerry wanted Paxton Lynch.

So I guess that's a silver lining way to look at this year's draft because Dallas clearly wanted Dalton Kincaid. I still don't get why they didn't take Mayer instead though.

As stated earlier: Micah Parsons isn't the guy they wanted. He was the guy that was left. They lucked out.

They still drafted him. I doubt they didn't want him at all, he just wasn't their first choice with the pick.

I feel like this encapsulated the point of my previous Cowboys post. This is a good pick, and he should do good behind the Dallas O-Line. However, it seems the furthest from a "JERRY JONES PICK" you could get. Jerry seems more like the kind of guy who would have taken Tank Bigsby because his name was TANK. Or the kind of guy who'd draft Shedur Sanders in the future only because he's Deion's son.

If Dallas is making good picks, I'm wondering if it's JERRUH JONE making those picks or someone else is making it and telling him it's for the best and easing him into them. I'm not sure any Cowboys fan actually trusts Jerry THAT much to believe he's this draft-competent to read into talent.
