Was going on a tear in Splatoon for a bit with a team of randos and got a friend request from one. I was like "yeah sure". A few seconds later I get a message saying thanks for adding me, join this discord. Figure what the heck. I join and just say "Hey good playing with ya." and they say they were very impressed with my 'splattening'. I'm being friendly, but it seems like they are either on the young side or not a native English speaker.

They keep messaging me about when I'll be free to play online and if I'm excited for the expansion DLC. At this point I'm getting a bit annoyed at the frequency of messages, but whatever. I say I am and they start talking about how expensive games are today due to the inflation and mention Ukraine for some reason.

I don't really get into it, but they start talking about deals on eshop gift cards and start saying that if I sent them some money over paypal they could get really good deals. I just told them I didn't use paypal and they just flat out asked for my credit card info. For some dumb reason I ask how much it would cost me and they messaged me back "I need about tree fiddy." Well it was about that time I noticed that in their profile picture they were about eight stories tall and were a crustacean from the plethazoic era. I said "Dammit loch ness monster! I ain't sending you no tree fiddy!" They replied back "Well how about two fiddy?" and I said "Ohhh now it's just two fiddy? What is there a sale on loch ness munchies?" Never had I been so annoyed by a scammer.
