Not sure about the story. Overall it's decent, villain is great, and I love Serah/Noel a lot more than Lightning as protagonists, but the detailed timey wimey stuff is "wat" tier. But gameplay is a blast.

I think I'm almost done with the main story but I'll probably do side content after it and the extra endings.

Battle system wise it's great. The story is probably the worst of the trilogy(imo), and timeskip Hope is the closest I'll get to calling Hope cool. I'm pretty sure the soundtrack was great but the first and third games were more memorable in the department for me.

i played the hell out of 13, bought 13-2 and i think even 13-3, and never really touched them. 2 starts off with a weird not-real fight and it just throws me off.

I dunno... I at least could understand what was happening in 13-2. Outside of the base story of "I got to find my sister", I had not a sweet clue what was happening in 13.

I replayed it last summer (got it on steam, originally played it on PS3 or 360, can't remember which).

I love the monster recruitment and customization systems. It can be kind of involved but is pretty accessable. Could never finish the ultimate arena fight against the dlc boss.

I remember getting omega as a preorder bonus and wanting it to work so badly but it just isnt good for your team. Too slow.

I like time travel stories but this one is kind of whatever. It's more about the paradoxes than fixing the future. Serah is probably my favorite character from the ffxiii trilogy (though Sahz and Vannile are close).

Just kind of random rambling, nothing specific to contribute.

I'm not one that hated Hope in the original, but I do think he's a lot cooler in XIII-2. Plus he's uh...ahem...pleasant to look at.

Someday, surely. It gets a lot of flak but it's still FF.

Involved but still accessible is a great way to describe the systems. But yeah, when I think of good time travel stories (imo) I think of Steins;Gate and now Dark. XIII-2 is one of those that makes it feel massively confusing/half-assed.
