I see that my Outlook email has access to Office, Excel, and Powerpoint. My Gmail also has docs, sheets, and slides.

Is it time for me to uninstall my old Microsoft Office 2007?

Yeah, microsoft word is essential in my line of work, and I use a lot of non basic functions that either don't exist or are crappier in alternative software,

Excel is also nice, but it's not as needed

I know it's an essential software but I am wondering if I could replace my outdated software with the one drive version

Office products still sucks using on a browser.

I just stick with my cracked copy of Office 2007 at home. At work, we use Office 2019.

No choice in the matter nor do I care if work is paying for the sub on my laptop.

At home though, I'll just type on a ye ole wordpad and Google sheets if I need a spreadsheet for whatever dorky reason.

i only use it at work. last time i used it outside of work was to write my resume and cover letter for my current job. the web based version of word was good enough for that

the outlook desktop app is alright, albeit slow and clunky these days. not worth the multi-hundred dollar perpetual licence, or o365 subscription

That was legit back when I picked it up, or at least "legit" enough that MS didn't care.
