I'm saying this as someone who doesn't think FromSoft games need difficulty options or whatever. And as someone who has beat Malenia with every stat build.
Maybe nothing outside of pure mathematical operations are objective, but that's just trivially true. From a design standpoint, Waterfowl Dance is a huge bottleneck uncharacteristic of the games. Not only is it the place I'm sure most attempts at the fight die to, but it's so dangerous at close range that it alone out of Malenia's entire diverse moveset determines how people attempt the fight.

I thought Melania was stupidly difficult with my Moonveil.

Then I left, got the Rivers of Blood and beat her first go. It felt almost like an exploit it was that easy.

No other boss in the game was like that for me. From memory if you don't have a weapon that stuns she is significantly more difficult.
