Yeah, there's not a whole lot that would make me ever consider going back into an industry that does shutdowns/outages/turnarounds. I value my free time

I was an engineering intern (and thus hourly) during turnaround once and made bank with all the OT. It definitely sucked working so many straight 12s though. I think it was worth it once with the OT, but I have no desire to do another one. Felt pretty bad for the full time salaried staff, but I did hear they got decent bonuses for turnaround season.

I was a full time salaried engineer during the turnarounds I went through. It's definitely a rip off to watch all that potential OT pay go down the shitter
