Genetics only account for 1/4 of cases. So dont think you are not likely to get it. Also its mostly asymptomatic until the end, so get checked regularly.

Probably going to be related to all the plastics and chemicals in our food.
I know you can get it young, but figured most cases were after age 50 which is why you get regular colonoscopies at that point. How are the able to determine the increased likelihood on people that are barely over 30?

The increased penchant for anal sex among the younger generations is undoubtedly a factor.

"Compared with persons who had never experienced receptive anal intercourse, those who had experienced it more than 130 times were 18 times as likely to develop anal cancer."
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14682441/

"In a study of 1,436 cases of colorectal cancer, 31.9% were HPV-positive. In another study of 55 patients with colon cancer, 51% had HPV DNA present in their samples." https://healthmatch.io/colon-cancer/anal-sex#overview

"In 1953, Kinsey found that 11% of men had had anal sex within marriage, out of a sample of 5.3K men." https://sexandstats.com/2014/09/08/anal-sex-married-men-1950s-now/

I've tried to think about what's causing this too. My grandfather got it in his 30s so I've been paranoid. I tested negative for the genes at least.

Had just assumed it's a lot more common to eat processed fast food and low physical activity at a younger age, but anecdotally the ones I'm familiar with getting it young ate healthy and exercised daily.

I even thought about the HPV angle and read about a doc obsessed with that hypothesis. Iirc the more recent studies seem to rule that out though and anal cancer, which is caused by hpv, is not colorectal cancer.

Seems every week the news is screaming for younger people to get screened. But whenever I've tried just for peace of mind, the docs say I'm too young. Even just the stupid box they say it's not approved for my age group even if I pay out of pocket. Frustrating. Guess I'll just die then.

No it doesnt. 80/80 is an indication that out of the 80 maximum characters allocated to topic titles, all 80 have been used and therefore no more detail can be added.

Thats a made up definition that doesnt reflect what 80/80 actually indicates. If someone cant add more detail in a title due to reaching the 80 character limit, they indicate that by saying 80/80
