My favorite Trails game finally has an official localization! The thrilling conclusion to the Crossbell duology is a much longer game than Zero was with a mix of old and new locations so you don't always feel like you're just retreading the same ground. Much like last year's port of Zero, the PC and Switch version have received additional visual enhancements while the PS4 version maintains parity with the Japanese PS4 and only his minimal updates. Averaging about an 84 through 27 reviews so far thats about what the series has been averaging overall (79 - 88 based on the game). If you played Zero or the Sky games you pretty much know what to expect from Azure. Oh and I heard the fishing was pretty easy too

FingerGuns - 10/10
The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure takes everything positive from its predecessor and raises the stakes significantly. It takes beloved characters, fleshes them out further and pays off every single thread it dangles throughout the two titles. It is so ambitious with its plot and delivers it effortlessly. Combat is fun, engaging and highly customisable. The Crossbell Arc deserves to be mentioned alongside the titans of the genre. If you are a JRPG fan and youve got the time to play them, these titles should be mandatory.

RPG Fan - 9.5/10
Its been a long time coming, but with the release of Trails to Azure, were no longer missing out on a vital part of the Trails universe. I know some fans are frustrated that the localization of the Crossbell games delayed Western releases of Trails into Reverie and Kuro no Kiseki, but to paraphrase Lloyd Bannings, this is a barrier that we simply had to overcome. Not only are these games relevant to what happens in the Trails of Cold Steel arc and beyond, but theyre also just good RPGs. Trails to Azure in particular is one of the best games in the series, and its probably my personal favorite. Fans should absolutely consider adding it to their library, particularly if they plan to play Trails into Reverie this summer. As for me, lets just say that I cant wait to see the SSS in action again!

NintendoWorldReport - 9/10
It might be tempting to skip Trails to Azure, but even set apart from the exceedingly large franchise its still another great RPG for the Switch. Im looking forward to possibly replaying it with more knowledge of the events and try to take on more of the side content, since I had to take a hard critical path to get the review done. If I dont decide to fill in some of those Trails story gaps this spring.

NintendoLife - 9/10
The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Azure takes everything thats excellent about Zero and runs a marathon with it. Its one of the best-paced games in the series, with some of the best characters, best music, and easily the best setting. The Crossbell Arc is a hugely compelling two-parter that captures everything that makes the Trails series what it is perfectly, and Azure in particular deftly balances high-stakes drama, political intrigue, and poignant character moments. This is one Switch RPG we won't be feeling blue about anytime soon.

Siliconera - 8/10
This is a JRPG that I didnt think wed ever see released worldwide about 10 years ago, and now its here. Its a joy to play. As long as youve been keeping up with the series over the last decade, it will likely delight you as well.

Twinfinite - 4/5
If youre a fan of the Trails series and are wanting a complete look at the world in the franchise, The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is an unmissable stop. Despite being based on a decade-old handheld title, the game is every bit as gripping as it was when it came out. Plus, with The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie arriving in July, this is the perfect time to brush up on the backstories of the heroes that will be taking part.

Spaziogames - 7/10
This is just the second half of the same game played I six months ago on the same platform, and, as such, is a solid and perfectly enjoyable old style JRPG with some rough edges and little courage. If you love the saga overall, it cannot be missed.

I'd say they're worth replaying in general. 3rd is heavily about exploring unturned stones and tying up loose ends, so if you don't feel you remember much about the world and minor characters it's probably a good idea to go through them again, but if you know you won't then don't worry about it

Cold Steel is a pretty big time sink so if time is a big issue you're kinda screwed anyway

ive played 1 and 2 and kinda dont have any interest playing them again, so that will save me some time. I wouldnt have had a kid six years ago if i knew these games were actually going to get released

Yeah, just go to 3rd. For one, it hasn't been at least a decade (SC came out in October 2015 in the West). And secondly, I think 3rd does a pretty good job refreshing you on what you might not remember that well.
