i'm not trying to imply i'm good at debating but people rip on him a lot though he can probably beat me in a debate on any subject

I don't think it would be hard to beat Ben Shapiro in a debate, but you would need to actually prepare for it like it was a debate. His schtick works because he gets thrown on talk shows with random people that didn't prepare beyond making sure they look good in the mirror that day and they have no response to anything he's bringing up, but the things he's bringing up would be the first things you would want to have evidence against if you were planning on seriously debating a topic.

This. The fact that gish gallop is seen as an effective debate tactic should tip you off that "debate" doesn't seek the truth or the better prepared.

In a sane world, just letting him talk would automatically make you the winner of this hypothetical debate.

His whole thing is misinterpreting facts and talking very quickly while throwing out completely made up hypotheticals, his debate style only works on unprepared college kids which is why he's always DESTROYING them with FACTS and LOGIC

Ben and others like him specialize in debating the inexperienced so that yeah, they destroy them. The few times Ben debates someone who knows how to debate he does a far worse job.

He is a horrible debate with someone who is not just some random person. His go to thing , is to make a stance, put that stance on the person he is a debating with, and then debate that. Not what the people are saying.

He also talks really fast to stop people from picking out his BS and getting people in a place where they are not ready.
