RULES

GENERAL

1. Mafia is a game of the uninformed majority (the TOWN), against the informed minority (the MAFIA/SCUM). It is the towns job to eradicate the mafia completely, and the mafias job to survive to a point where numbers are such that they cannot lose.
2. The town eliminates the mafia via lynches, which occur once a day. Everyone gets one vote which they may place on whoever they feel is scum. Whoever receives the most votes is lynched, and removed from the game.
3. During the night phase, the mafia gets its chance to even the numbers slightly by killing one townie, removing them from the game. All power roles (under most circumstances) also get to perform their actions.
4. The game ends when one faction meets its victory condition. A player will win, even if they are dead, so long as their alignment triumphs.

VOTING

1. You vote in the format ##Vote: Player, in bold. You can remove your vote by posting ##Unvote, also in bold. You can also choose to ##Vote: No Lynch.
2. The lynch is decided on a plurality system. Once one player receives votes from most of the playership left in the game, the day immediately ends, and that player is lynched. Failing that, every day has a time limit of 48 hours. The player in the lead at that point will be lynched.
3. In the event that two or more players are tied in votes at the end of the day, sudden death will occur. A thirty minute extension will begin once indicated by the host, and only the tied players may be voted for, or unvoted. The moment one player emerges as the vote leader, the day immediately ends, and they will be lynched. If there is no change after thirty minutes, the day will end with No Lynch.
4. The only exception to this is in the case of a No Lynch. It only has to be tied for the lead at the end of the day to assume priority.
5. You may not vote for yourself.

ROLES

1. Before the game begins, you will receive your role from the host. This will contain your flavour name/character, your alignment, and your role, as well as some flavour text explaining your character and role. You must read this before playing the game.
2. You must keep this role text to yourself. Sharing it with anyone else within or outside of the topic will lead to your immediate modkill, as well as possibly anyone who sees it.
3. You may choose to reveal your role in-game, but you must do so in a paraphrased format. Directly copying and pasting anything but your flavour name, alignment and role, will likely lead to you being modkilled.

ETIQUETTE

1. A basic level of activity is expected in this game. You are not expected to post for the whole 48 hours, but you are expected to keep up to speed with the topic.
2. Play to win. There is no such thing as being in an unwinnable position in mafia, however hopeless it may seem. If you are patently not trying, and/or sabotaging your faction, you will be on grounds for a modkill.
3. You are forbidden from talking to another player about the game outside the topic, unless you have a special board, or permission from the host to do so. You are forbidden from posting in the topic during the night phase (including after the final vote is cast/a STOP is called). You are forbidden from editing or deleting posts. This includes players who have been eliminated from the game.
4. Do not post/pass on messages or pictures from another player into the topic. Do not post audio clips into the topic.
5. Remember to check your messages before posting in each new day, even if you are not expecting correspondence from the host. There may be something you need to be aware of before posting.
6. Metagaming is allowed, but not encouraged. Metagaming is drawing conclusions based on predictions/expectations of the host, set-up or fellow players.
7. Do not attempt to bet, or stake a claim on outside forces during the game i.e. do not swear on your mothers life that you are telling the truth.
8. Play nice. Deliberate intimidation, harassment or verbal abuse of another player in a malicious and uncalled for fashion may lead to a modkill. Mafia is a game.
9. Do what the Host says. He also reserves the right to change any of these rules at any point, within reason.
10. You are not allowed to have any players in the game blocked while you are both in the game.

Yes, what is it, Ensign Lopen, I was in the middle of my first Log, what could possibly warrant such a reaction, we only just left spacedo, Captain Picard was cut off and was none too pleased about it.
S-s-s-sorry sir, I mean Captain, I mean Captain Picard weve got a really big problem here you need to come see!
Both men exited the ready room and stepped onto the bridge of the USS Enterprise, a majestic galaxy class starship and the flagship of Starfleet. Ensign Lopen immediately pointed to the view screen and screamed, Oh god, its getting closer!
Red Alert, Shields Up, Lieutenant Yar, what do we know about thisthing?
Nothing, Sir, Tasha Yar was frantic, Ive never seen anything like it before, its coming on us too quick, Captain, I cant shake it. BRACE FOR IMPACT!

The Enterprise was engulfed by the unknown anomaly and everyone on board was thrust from one side of the bridge to the other, there was an explosion and a blinding flash of light. Everything vanished and then reappeared just as quickly, except no one seemed to be in the right place, no place seemed to be in the right time and no one seemed to know who anyone else was. All eyes were darting left and right, everyone trying to figure out the what's, where's, whos and how's, all except for one. There was a body on the floor near the helm, if it hadnt been for the color of their shirt youd have known instantly it was soaked in blood.

ENSIGN LOPEN HAS BEEN KILLED, he was Town Red Shirt.

Hey y'all. Might be a lil less active this game than you're used to but glad to be back. Star Trek is some bombass flavour and I joined despite common sense saying otherwise.

First port of call - Wallmaster, have you played any mafia before?

Second port- BCT, I have seen your more recent games and it seems like you get kinda stressed out playing Town, especially whenever you get wrongly suspected. I don't particularly want that to happen, so I'm gonna take a different approach. I'm gonna treat you as confirmed Town for the time being, and honestly, I think you're pretty easy to read, so I feel it'll be very clear if you are Scum and I will come murder you once I come to that conclusion. But I'm sure you're Town and we won't have that problem, will we?

And yeah, I tend to get angry when nobody listens to me and continues suspecting me even when I go to painful lengths to try and get them to see that. Playing town is incredibly stressful!

Hey blind faith in me was really good the start of my last game here. When I murdered you.

Might be good to remember that I probably shouldn't be Alive at final 3 if I murdered half the scum team though.

Anyway I am on the final chapter of yakuza 7 so I am not paying close attention yet

Don't worry too much about it. You'll be suspected a lil bit no matter what, focus on scumhunting and it'll all come together. No need to make defending yourself your first priority.

Yeah, I reacted to getting scanned in my first game back in ages because I didn't want anyone saying they scanned me scum. And nobody scanned me because I was acting paranoid that people were suspecting me, trying to pull off that con (and succeeding!). I'm not cop, but I'd have probably done just that if I were.

Also please remember that a new player has to get to live to see D2.
