We Swedes dont choose our entry until Saturday next week but legendary Eurovision (2012) winner Loreen is back and shes expected to win our national selection with a song thats already starting to chart abroad.

The EBU created and own Eurovision so that has always been the case. Both Israel and Australia have been EBU members for decades. I believe that KAN and SBS are their respective networks currently tasked with handling their membership. In the UK it is the BBC.

American Idol is like a grandkid of Eurovision. Eurovision has aired since 1956 and artists compete with an original song. Sometimes quite famous artists.

Yes. I was hoping for Patty Gurdy, but her performance in the final was horrible. LOTL should do well enough (for German expectations) in Liverpool.

Both would have been great winners. I do prefer Mneskin if forced to choose tho, but that is no shade against Blind Channel.

Personally I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Sam Ryder's one last year, but to be fair it's pretty catchy, and could be the sort of thing that would get people going in the arena.

Not to my taste, but I reckon it will do reasonably well. I predict mid table.

SVT have now released the detailed voting results. Loreen broke the record for most votes: 3.7 million votes in our final.

She got 12 points from 7 of the 8 televote/app vote groups, and 12p from 7 outta 8 jury groups.

I actually prefer it to Spaceman. Im a fan of Dua Lipa and you can totally tell (in a good way) that both Mae and Dua are repped by the same people.

Patty Gurdy is awesome. I discovered her completely by accident the other week.

Fun fact:

One of the songwriters and producers of Loreens Tattoo is a Swedish woman named Moa Carlebecker, who also wrote and produced AleXas Wonderland (the winner of American Song Contest).
