the_pika 03/02/23 8:27:00 PM #1:	I want to talk about something I have been noticing lately they use of they this topic is not about trans individuals. I am fully aware that using they/them is the correct way to refer to trans individuals. This topic is about cis people. imagine there is some dude, with a name such as CisMAGAchadJake or even better, an actual cis, male-born person known everywhere to be cis and male-born, say, Michael Jordan. imagine he makes a topic in CE and gets banned, and someone posts CisMAGAchadJake got banned. then someone replies what did they do? why use they in this case instead of what did he do? I am seeing this usage or them/they more and more and more frequently now, and it wasnt really a common thing a few years ago. why is this happening? Some people get weirdly upset when this question is made (to clarify, I mean in the contest of using they for a single clearly cis individual), and they make present odd reasonings such as Shakespeare did it too or it was this way in the 19th century, which is odd, since they also used words such as thee, thy and thine.
