It is a former teacher vs a former high superintendent.

Lightfoot should drop out.

They are calling Brandon Johnson for runner up. So mayor is possible in the run off

Vallas would be worse than Lightfoot.

When I voted by mailin ballot for Brandon I felt I was risking my vote but enough people voted for him.

I really wish we had ranked voting.

Hate to blow up your spot, but Vallas actually supports ranked-choice voting for all elected city offices.

Either way, depends on where Chuy & Lightfoot's supporters lean towards. I'm going to assume Lightfoot's remaining support will go to Vallas and that will probably be enough to put him over. Willie Wilson also has asked his supporters whom he should endorse, but if Wilson stays on his public safety track, then he will most likely support Vallas. Both of those will be more than enough to beat Johnson in the runoff.

This is not a personality thing. Although Johnson is way cooler than Vallas, I would still vote for BJ if he was as old and ugly as Vallas.

Focus on ranked voting and cops on every corner

Because having a place to live is not an issue when you own your home and have a secure income.

None of what you say matters if the GD's and VLs are unloading on each other in neighborhoods and districts that need development and business investment to become livable and thriving. BJ's policies and proposals don't pivot much from what Lightfoot proposed to do in her 2018 campaign.

Vallas will be our next mayor, count on it.

Though I'd be happy with anyone other than Blightfoot.

Lightfoot is way better than Vallas.

Vallas could win. He will be the worst mayor. We have had plenty of bad mayors- Daley and Daley so yeah Vallas could win.
