Serious question because I havent been paying attention for like a year now:

what are the daily death counts looking like these days compared to other stuff? I remember Covid was killing like 2-3k people a day back in 2020-2021 but the past year or so with these new variants it seems like a ton of people just get infected and feel like death for a few days but recover from it

My boss went home sick yesterday after we had a half hour long meeting in his office. He tested positive and said whoops

my states total infected today is like 580. out of a population of over 9 million. The governor doesn't even do his daily covid press conferences. We just collectively do not care lol. Also 9 deaths.

Apparently today for the US was 308 deaths

it's flu level deaths right now but it does spike every once in a while. and if we get a bad mutation in a year or two it could be worse than the original strains

it's all normal like now like it never happened.
i'm still taking precautions (only the vaccine is the means to not having a worse outcome).

Ive been exposed to so many fucking people that have had Covid since returning to work and I still havent gotten it.

isn't it japan who puts it at flu level threat now? guess it was the most likely scenario in the evolution of strains

9-5's were bad enough before they expected you to literally die for your job. I don't get how people don't riot and protest over that.

Im on SSI. Even if I started a movement like that, someone would call that out like it was some gotcha and my movement would get destroyed. Cause that's how stupid the world is. Lol

Vaccines + herd immunity + weaker dominant variants has put it in flu level.

Still sucks because it's still a pretty new virus that kills thousands of people each year in addition to the thousands that the flu was already killing, but I'm not sure how that's going to overlap.
