Scarlet/Violet DLC is almost guaranteed to be shown, but people are also speculating the mainline GB/GBA games on Nintendo Switch Online, Detective Pikachu 2 (the game), and even a Mystery Dungeon game.

this just seems way too blatant of a reveal IMHO. it just feels way too easy.

dont get me wrong, im baffled at least some of them werent on to start with, but it seems too much of a "stars aligned" situation. i wouldnt discount nintendo/game freak stupidity being the reason for them not being available from the start

GB/GBA games would at least resolve the issues people brought up with the Pokemon Stadium games coming up soon

Watch that they'll come out but STILL not be compatible with Pokemon Stadium

we already know stadium 1 and 2 are coming to the n64, and it'll work with the gb games..

Sounds too good to be true.

Personally I feel like it's too early for Scarlet/Violet DLC. It may very well be that anyway, but personally I think it's rather tacky to announce DLC for a game when the base game still has glaring issues that still need addressing.

I think SV-Home connectivity is a lot more likely to get mentioned.

Also I suspect that if they release the old Pokemon games again (which they almost surely will eventually, even if it doesn't get announced just yet), they're going to be part of a separate app from the usual GB/GBC virtual console apps so that they can disable save stating, like what they did on the 3DS VC, and make it so that they are actually designed to be connected to Stadium 1/2 on the N64 VC app.

Fire Emblem came out a month ago and already released two waves of DLC.

Fire Emblem is also probably a much better polished game. I wouldn't know though, I haven't played it, but I certainly haven't heard people talking about it being broken as fuck like I have with SV.

Regardless, like I said, it being too early for SV DLC is my personal feeling, and that may still be what they're announcing anyway.

Sword/Shield DLC was revealed in the January after its release. We are in the February following Scarlet/Violet's release.

I doubt they care. Sword/Shield also had some performance issues, and they just went right along with the DLC.

I wasn't trying to compare dates. I was referring to the fact that to me it's not a good look to announce DLC for a game that still needs fixing on the base game.

Nowhere near the level of SV. I have tried playing Sword again recently, and the difference is like night and day.

Most of SwSh's gripes were in the form of Dexit and that stupid tree jpg, and the DLC at least made some attempt to address the former.

It feels a bit soon to me to be announcing more games for the NSO GB/GBA lineup.

I will continue to hold out futile hope for a new Pokmon Ranger game. But we'll probably just get Magikarp Jump 2.

I mean both can be done at the same time with fixes and DLC.

Also SwSh were a fully open world game so that has some benefit to its performance.

The idea that TPC or Game Freak would let something like severe performance issues get in the way of sweet DLC money is patently ridiculous. We are well past the point of pretending that they care about releasing polished, competently made games.

We really arent at least for Gamefreak anyhow since they are just the developers not the publishers here. TPC is another story with Nintendo as well.

Pokemon keeps the lights on for Game Freak. They a completely benefit from making Pokemon content quickly and regularly. They are also one of the main owners of TPC so it's hardly like they are some voiceless developer, forced to make games against their will.

Nintendo, Gamefreak, Creatures Inc. which means all three have some stake in this franchise on top of TPC itself as it gas its own set of employees too.
