It's not that I don't believe them. Its just that, for documentation purposes, it should be seen. I could understand having the image blacked out with a "click here at your own discretion" warning. But a blurred image as the only documentation?

Think of it all of the historic photos of racial injustice were edited to remove the offensive content. Believe me, I have no love for that word or the hatred that it represents. But I feel like a blurred image and documentation that a slur was present is not the way to go.

I'll be honest, my curiousity is begging to see the actual word but I understand why they won't show it.

Still that's fucked up. Even for PR reasons I would just flat out fire the guy. There's no way this isn't just "negligence", it's "gross negligence". It wasn't by accident, it was on purpose.

After the flood of messages written on receipts over the last several years that were found to be fake, I am going to sit and wait on this one before passing judgement.

I would agree with you if this was written, but the picture showed it was typed on the receipt. Much harder to fake that shit.

Search Google for "fake racist message on receipt" and there are tons of them. If it was printed on the receipt can that be that she put that as the name for the order when making the order?

Any chain that still uses names for orders deserves to get sued for shit like this. Its so easily abused by workers and customers. Why not just use order numbers?

People where I work still call me by my first and last name in a public setting.
I've been trying to get to stop that for three years now.
Some got the message...I assume the others are just too stupid to understand the concept.

yeah i was gonna say there were only 2 incidents of fakes slurs on receipts not tons
but i also didnt want to google it to see if i was right or remembering wrong so i just didnt post anything

I dug deeper and found more going back to 2013, even a topic on the Politics board about one in 2014, hence why I said several years. I guess what I am remembering more recently is the "no tip" receipts of more recent years.

It's a fun conservative tactic to denounce the existence of hate crimes and racism. They find a handful of hoaxes and point to the same cases over and over and call it "a flood of hoaxes and false claims".

Thats why i used to put everyones name as "1" on those orders.

Im not wasting the time writing down names.

When I worked at a pizza place, a coworker put the name "Deez Nuts" on a pick up order and when I asked him about it, he said the customer wouldn't give his name, so coworker said "doesn't have to be your real name. I just have to put a name on the order, so it can be anything you want" and the guy chose Deez Nuts.
