Let's discuss it here

Weaker mcu movie, had its moments but it felt like the weakest performance by the ant man crew. Mcu has brought in a lot of new younger girls lately: kate bishop, ms marvel, riri, america chavez, yelena kind of...new cassie is easily the weakest of the bunch

Wasp went from unlikable mean person in 1 to some what likeable in 2 to having no lines.

This was ant mans weakest performance

Kang was good but the last movie had namor who was better. His threat is too abstract. Show me what a universe (timeline?) getting destroyed looks like. Dude who got his ass whooped by ants destroys universes with arishem and dormamu in them? He only lost because ants fell into the quantum realm with Pym but aged differently, built an advanced civilization? What??

It felt closer to a star wars movie but none of the quantum realm people were remotely interesting

Also pym suit people are OP. Scott should have gone thanos himself in endgame. The power scaling on these guys is silly

I actually liked the visuals. Modok got me, I wont lie, I laughed at his look and I think his bad look was intentional. His line of being an avenger got me but he went out like a chump

I think this is the worst ant man movie, a sub franchise Im not even that big on and worse than every phase 4 movie

I got excited when I saw the rotten tomatoes score because eternals was rotten and I loves that movie. Im torn between a 5-6/10

Peyton reed said he doesnt want to be a pallette cleanser guy, sorry dude that was your forte (kind of)

Theres better post credit scenes, theres worse

The first one shows the other versions of kangs having a meeting and some of the designs look cool. The second one brings loki and mobius back and they are watching kang in the early 1900s, just good to see familiar faces who are relevant to this plot. They did their job to hype kang dynasty and loki season 2.

So from what I understand Kang was severely weakened here. Hes basically a guy from the future with future tech and the ability to manipulate time.

in this movie he was cut off from the time aspect and was basically just a futuristic Ironman.

I imagine for Kang Dynasty hell get out and destroy the council and become a real threat before causing whatever happens to start Secret Wars.

I really enjoyed the movie when I saw it. But the flaws become more apparent the more it sits with me. I think it needed some more stakes towards the end. It really should have left Scott/Hope in the Quantam realm. I definitely agree with a 6/10 but think the critics massively overblowed how bad it was.

The ants didnt really bother me since Janet mentioned Time Dilation at the end of Antman 2 so it was a known factor.

Janet became annoying to me for how long she was quiet about kang. You would think she would tell hank about kang earlier or at least about multiverses. I mean the critics are at a 5/10 or so, so its not like they are way off your 6/10

Sure time dilation exists but it was way too convenient

In loki it was established kang was a smart dude in year 3000 with great tech

Yeah that was extremely frustrating. Im sure there was plenty of time to mention Kang. And there was literally no need not to.

Just finished watching the movie. I thought it was fun. I liked Cassie, they gave her a bit of Scott's personality which was cute. Wasp didn't have as much to work with as she did in the other movies, but I kind of blame it with the balancing act it had with all the characters. It really did try to give everyone an assignment. The movie has a lot of action, so you won't really get bored. Visuals kind of reminded me of Strange World. Kang is good as a villain, on a similar level as Hela I think. My opinion on this might change once things sink in.
The bad stuff, the overall plot isn't that great, and there are no character arcs. It didn't feel like any of the characters learned something new about themselves, which I originally thought they were trying to do with Scott and Cassie. But all of the characters kind of remain the same. This is another set-up movie, but it's a decent adventure movie. I'd give it a C+ for now.

Weird movie tbh. Going straight into the Quantum Realm and spending most of the time there and skipping most stuff on Earth seems great on paper. No need to waste time. But it didn't turn out that great with the execution.

Kang was amazing, yet felt like he got fucked because he sucked at planning. Which goes entirely against his character.

The council seems a bit too cringy. I'm still not sure what's what. I'm guessing this Kang is the main one and the other ones are good and trying to stop him? Or maybe it's the other way around?

I absolutely loved Loki and Mobius showing up. I was getting worried that they'd be left out of all of this considering Sylvie is the reason all of this is even happening and we didn't see them in No Way Home, MoM or Thor 4. Can't wait for season 2.

Kind of echoes what I thought. I thought hela at least came out of her movie looking strong.

Kang lost to an army of ants, how is this guy supposed to be feared

He just underestimated them. He's extremely cocky and didn't expect a full scale revolt. And once his machine was destroyed he kind of threw a hissy fit. I honestly didn't care for him until that moment. The stoic jerk was boring but emotional Kang had a bit more weight. It's not a great excuse but I think losing to an army of ants can be explained.

Yeah I was disappointed by how he lost too. Hela's defeat made sense to me because her powers comes from Asgard. It felt like the way to win in this fight was to bring more people. If the core was connected to Kang's powers somehow and Janet figured out a way to manipulate it to defeat him, I could of bought that. They're scientists. Him dying by Wasp and Ant-man pushing him to the core is fine, it just wasn't satisfying for me.

I agree with the first bit. Janet knows its so fangerous but unenthusiastically says "no cassie dont". Transition back to earth was as jarring

Loki also had the same problem, threat is too abstract. Kangs tell me they destroy timelines/universes but show me they are quite easily beatable. Put them in an arena and I think the last 3 villains beat him in a fight (gorr, namor, wanda...maybe not namor but the other 2 might, wanda for sure does)

I think I land at a 6/10 for this movie. I did like it visually. For people complaining its cgi goop, were they supposed to film on location in the quantum realm?
