I play on a single 24 1080p/144hz monitor.

Thinking of selling my desktop setup and getting a really nice laptop instead so I can play anywhere. Obvious downside being you typically cant upgrade a laptop beyond RAM unless thats changed in recent years.

Anyone have suggestions on solid laptops thatll last me awhile?

Or reasons I should definitely not do this?

I bought a gaming laptop, but it seems like all I mostly do on it is get high and watch Youtube, and play Solitaire.

One thing to keep in mind with laptops is cooling. Even if your specs meet a demanding game your laptop might sound like a jet engine and start choking from the high temps. Depends on the model though.

If I was going to game on the go I think I'd just get a Steam Deck.

idk, its not super nice or anything. Think I paid like $120 for it back in 2020 so wouldnt ask much.

Ryzen 7 3700X
Radeon 5700XT
16GB RAM
1TB SSD, 3TB HDD

idk the rest off the top of my head but figure thats the important stuff people care about. Id want a laptop thats basically on par/better than the current gen consoles and could keep up with new releases for at least a few years. Dont necessarily care about 4K since its a smaller screen so could probably get some more time out of it. Though I guess I could hook it up to my 4K TV occasionally

I'll say this as someone who pretty much only games on laptop, its worth it if you're on the move a lot. I take my laptop to work 4 days a week and have enough down time to play whatever I like and its completely worth it. As long as you get something in the low high end tier you won't be giving up too much tbh in terms of pure gaming quality.

If you travel a lot then its worth it.

If youre just trying to go from the couch to the desk its not.

Cons, can't upgrade graphics card at all, stuck with what you have, and is pricier.

No, everyone i know that does that hates it.

You pay extra for the novelty, the parts are usually worse than their desktop counterparts, they overheat onto your lap, the screen is usually smaller than what you have now.

Unless youre really confined for space its not usually a better option.
