are afraid that you may realize that you don't really have much of a fondness for it as you used to, and that this is an indicator of your having changed since having last seen the show in question?

I must have these answers.

I hold out and hope i can recapture some of the magic. Many shows I've grown out of...like a lot of drama.
i used to love Daria, for instance, but it's so high school and the drama is so bad.
Some kids shows are just okay, like Inspector Gadget.

No, not really. I'll recognize that it might not hit as well as it once did, but I'll still watch it anyways.

I might not show my kids a movie that I like specifically because they would tear up from a modern perspective, though. Or I might steer them away from playing something like FF7 because I don't want to see them rolling their eyes at it.

Hopefully they'll play FFVII on their own.

I love Lord Jesus, Family Matters (for Steve & Laura which I typed up a beautiful alt from Just One Date episode) and FFIX (for Zidane & Garnet).

I've largely stopped re-watching/reading stuff from my childhood as it just tends to ruin the memories. I generally don't have the same issue with games. I still rarely play older games, but that is more due to time constraints.

I used to do this with music but when I go back to stuff like Dead or Alive that I would think would be too poppy for me anymore I still love it. I've come to terms with liking what I like and I love revisiting those things

No but I hate remembering certain shows I associate with people I once liked that ended up wronging me, like a show myself and an ex liked.

I have refused to rewatch shows because of something about it now depresses me. But it's never been because of how my taste differs.

The only case I can really give on the top of my head was Power Rangers. Now I honestly ALWAYS hated power rangers. But I always had a young crush on Thuy Trang. Now this case just has a special kind of effect on me in that even though I know better, it still gives me depressing nightmares. I don't know why her case still lives in me when I tend to hate Hollywood celebrities these days.

I'm much more likely to rewatch something that I disliked when i was younger, rather than something i liked. The logic being that I wasn't mature enough to appreciate it, and maybe now I will.
