Now I have to drive to my bank and withdraw cash then get back in the long ass line and I wont even get my rewards points :(

I've worked at one and McDonald's does actually require a daily close and open of its POS system. During that time, their registers outright don't work, they're taking the orders by hand and cashing you out with a calculator. If I remember right, it would take about twenty minutes.

If it makes you feel better, they hate it because taking orders like that is a pain in the ass.

Im sure there are some cases of systems rebooting. But i worked fast food for 11 years from crew to a DM level. 99% of the time its because people in the drive thru didnt wake to take any orders and wanted the customers to go away.

Other common things are, turning off in store or parking lot lights and the signs.

Waiting about 30 seconds before greeting you at the speaker.

Ignoring all calls to the store.

Rushing you at the speaker to piss you off and not want to come back.

Giving you old nasty food (dont ask for it "fresh" at late night. Theyre just gonna dip it).

Pulling you up or making you wait insane amounts of time.

Just plain fucking up your order and not stuffing the bags with napkins and shit.

Or a nice combo of these things, especially if they notice you are a repeat customer that they dont want to see any more.

Most of the managers dont care about your money and they just want to go home. They get paid hourly and it doesnt matter if the store brings in 1 dollar a night or 10k. They want it as easy as possible and the word of mouth of "stay away from that micky d's after 9pm" is like gold to them.

This one not so much though, it's just that overnight shift has exactly two people on it and you had a lot of shit to do, so sometimes you were nowhere near a register. And if you went into the walk-in, the headset wouldn't even work.

The last time I was at McDonald's overnight, I remembered that they only took cash from 3 to 4, but then they reasked what the order was when we pulled up to the window.
