Yeah this. Having healthy teeth and hair are maintenance too. Even your genitals require some maintenance, regardless of if you changed them. Cars, houses, relationships everything needs constant maintenance.

Characterizing people as "proponents of gender reassignment surgery" kind of misses the point. People exist who love the idea and want more people to have it just because they love it so much, but they're not a particularly significant demographic. Instead, what those you are calling "proponents" support is making sure trans people are able to access the care they need to treat their dysphoria as best as possible. In some cases, that includes surgery, but that's a decision they should make with their doctor, not something that needs to be promoted on its own merits.

Mostly, it's not about encouraging surgery, it's about getting transphobes to leave the whole concept alone so science and medicine can do their job and help people feel better, whatever form that ends up taking.

I don't know and would never ask personally, the trans people I know have not had any surgery past hormones. That's pretty expensive, especially in the US.

There is literally nothing you can say about trans care that a trans person has not gone out of their way to learn far more about than you. What "maintenance" a person engages in, what is and isn't necessary for them, and whether or not it is worth it to them is something they can determine without you, and again, if you think you have more insight on this than actual trans people, that they need a warning about things that they are far more educated on than you, you should probably think a bit about how this comes off... This just comes off as you thinking trans people haven't all already considered this. They have.

PMS has nothing to do with vagina maintenance. You need to learn about the female reproductive system.

Who is disputing that a vagina is more maintenance than a penis? Of course it is.

That's kinda not your responsibility. They can make sure they're as clean or not as they want.

you don't need pads. tampons, diva cups, and absorbent menstruation underwear are all a thing. hell I'm very light with birth control so I don't really need anything other than a tampon a day if I'm leaving the house only. that's not to say that's the norm at all but everyone is different.

but your saying "sure hope you buy pads!" really shows your ignorance on the matter. even when I was heavy, more frequent tampons were way better than pads. Pads were only used when I was a teenager unfamiliar with tampons. Again, everyone is different, but implying everyone needs pads is just ignorant.

No. First, Im not trans. But if I were Id still be entrusting phallible() men to do an irreversible procedure. Besides, most transgender people I know personally still have their OG junk. They dont need GRS to feel like themselves. The penis is just a very small portion of who they are.
