Every AI topic is just painfully stupid, and the only reason I can tell is because I work with AI and am familiar with it. That makes me think that every topic is stupid, and I just don't see why because I'm not an expert.

Like this one, where people base an entire argument off the idea that "only corporations will be able to afford the images to train with in the future if we implement this one rule to help protect artists"

(because there's no way an artist would opt-in to have their art help train an AI for any reason ever, no, it has to be this exact scenario against the general consensus and wishes of the art community)

The infographics show is just the worst, lazy content rehashed with this weird authoritative attitude

Kurzgeghahtsz is kind of awesome, though. Don't know why people suddenly started hating on it as if they're some kind of shills. They've said multiple times that the best way of fighting climate change is to get involved in politics, which is about as honestly blunt as you can get without saying "vote bernie sanders, overthrow capitalism"

I like their far future stuff because they include the fact that "you will be dead before any of this cool stuff happens, also it will only happen if you prevent corporations from murdering you first"

Futurology talks about carbon capture, but the fact is that climate change is not a technology issue, it's a politics and corruption issue (right wing), and all this planet-saving climate change technology is generally a scam

Imagine setting up these big expensive machines that pull a tiny amount of CO2 while 10,000 times more is pumped into the atmosphere

Or if instead of planting trees to combat CO2, we genetically engineer some rapidly growing plant and then bury it in the ground so that it doesn't just release it back into the air? Bamboo grows way faster than a tree, don't know why we got stuck on trees
