What makes this game different? Rowling still saw royalties with the movies but nobody called for a boycott over those. If anything, there were more people upset over Johnny Depp not returning for the third one more so than Rowling getting paid.

Yup. The people attacking others over this game don't actually care about helping trans people, they just want to feel better than other people over a game they had no intention of purchasing. It's why the entire thing has started and stopping at Hogwarts Legacy, because actually doing anything meaningful that would actually require effort from them is too much.

I wasn't even trying to find anything bad, I just was curious as I didn't recognize the username and was wondering if they literally just came here to create drama or not. Ironically, I clicked on that topic thinking they were going to be making fun of people who try to mock transgender issues, but then I got that post instead.

They literally only have 11 topics in all of their time, and barely any posts.

Also, nobody is really going after WB, who decided to make the game.

Regardless, the implication going forward seem to be that all Harry Potter is off limits. Trying to cancel HP is basically a delusional task.

Yeah you're right they were bad because of her writing....but no one was talking of boycotting them because of her views.

in a vacuum i would say peoples views can change in the almost 6 years its been since that post, but if they truly only came here to start arguments then thats definitely not a good look

That was my point, even if I didn't make it 100% clear. I recognize people change; I know I have. At the same time, though, it's pretty clear that Ragnarider just wants to rile up people.

Well why would I point out necessary things that we are forced to have to function in society? Video games are completely unnecessary and rife with problematic actors that we look the other way on because "video game fun"

Video game reviews aren't objective. They never were.

Objective is a bad choice of wording, but you know what the other poster meant. The review should be about the game, not "1/10 because someone tangentially involved is an asshole in a way that has no bearing on the game itself".
